Yes, that’s true, whichever way you look at it.
Some are biased towards supporting male lies and cheating - all trans women are transwomen not women and therefore not female. Many TW may not choose to cheat, or lie, or make demands or claim female rights, but there are obviously many who do.
If you disagree with that, you are biased towards supporting the lies and cheating carried out by some of the transwomen.

Others are biased towards biological truth, that males cannot become female, either by statement or by surgery.
Those biased towards the truth see men claiming awards that rightfully belong to women not transwomen, (females not males) or for being a woman
as offensive.
People choose which bias they support.

I didn't. Your "... pandering to the trans lobby.", implied you did not accept they were entitled to the view they hold.

Perhaps you should take heed of your own advice that it's "Best not to put your own spin on posts.", and not try to "spin" what others are saying.

Why is it that only the words woman and female are always up for re-definition? There isn't any debate about man or male. Is that because men are more accepting, or could it be that transmen aka females aren't as aggressive or demanding? It's interesting to note that the sex-specific screening for prostate cancer refers to men, never 'bodies with a prostate', and I've not heard one squeak of disapproval from the trans lobby or their supporters.

Yes, and who gets to have their definition hold? Not women themselves, I’d bet.

The tweet says "I was awarded the East Midlands outstanding FEMALE.........." A transwoman is not by any definition female, or are we not to have any word for that sex designed to provide the large gamete in sexual reproduction? It is very pertinent what sex wins a female award.

I very much doubt any of us would have been "harping" about black rights activists, nor before you raise it gay rights activists. Why try to malign women who merely are concerned about women being shoved aside at every opportunity? What is it about males taking awards meant for females in sports, literary awards, business awards etc etc that you think is so inherently "fair"?

So what is the definition of female? Is there a word that exclusively denotes the sex in mammals that provides the large immotile gamete in sexual reproduction? It could be very useful for classification purposes.

Even Governments have to be mindful of who they have borrowed money from.

I am very happy for transmen to be in womens spaces if we are broadening the debate, for example as a rule transmen are not housed in female prisons for obvious reasons.

A good example. Belief in a flat Earth among educated Europeans was almost nonexistent from the Late Middle Ages onwards. It tended to be the "everybody knows" group, the church and governments who kept pushing the Flat Earth myth. All of those groups had some level of gain by doing so.

Any trans Men would have been in Mens awards. Just as trans women were in this one.

Would people have been happier if a trans man had won the Women's award?

Read the link supplied by Caravansera. The award is for a person identifying as a woman which the winner clearly is. There is also an award for a man who supports women. Actually, the awards are rather inclusive and no-one is cheating, imo.

Fairly obviously is is only people with your cultural view who disagree, and fairly obviously that isn't "everyone", as this person was given the award by a group with an entirely different view.

this seems to be an issue that largely divides on age lines.
the elders are v concerned, the youngers think they are misguided, or narrow-minded, or something; ie that there is no problem, except prejudice.
not sure where the divide falls, about age 40, maybe ?
i guess others have noticed this too.

No, it is not divided on age lines.
It is divided into those who have an understanding of biology and genetics and understand the difference between sex and gender and those who do not.

Many under 40s seem to have missed hearing about this dramatic ability to change sex, too. 🤔

I'm a tad confused here.

Why did this person's gender ID matter in the context of this award?

I can understand in sport that males have an advantage over women in most sports, but why is it even an issue in this case? Why would be being born a male give the person an advantage?

PS. I do think people's attitudes tend to divide on age lines.
