Hamas has attacked Israel

It’s being reported that Hamas has launched 400 plus rockets into Israel along with its men shooting Israeli civilians in the streets.

Israel has retaliated with extreme force, are we heading for yet another all out war in the Middle East?

I was scrolling X (Twitter) and found the most appalling video posted by Hamas showing a dead Israeli women, stripped naked and being driven around whilst her body is being abused.

I do not think I can ever remove those images from my brain, yet again women being abused/defiled by men as an act of war.

People were quick to support Ukraine and it’s citizens when Russia invaded, why is it so hard to support Israel, they have had their border breeched, they have been shelled?

Because there's a context. I don't support Israel - I support Israelis.

Netanyahu and his cronies must have known what Hamas' reaction would be to his actions over the last few years.

When the IRA was visiting terror on England how do you think the world would have reacted if WM had given orders to bomb Dublin?
The PEOPLE in Gaza are NOT Hamas ,the attack on them is barbaric and inhumane .I am shocked the people of our age ...or any age thing this treatment is not only acceptable but to be applauded .These people have been living in hell on earth for decades ,is wiping them out the "final solution" ?
You should all be very ashamed!

The IRA’s actions and Hamas atrocities are incomparable.

I was in London when two of the bombs went off, extremely close, I consider myself lucky.

IRA did not behead babies, bind their limbs and then burn children alive or commit anything like the atrocities of Hamas.

No, they just knee-capped people, tarred and feathered them and blew up the odd bus or took people down back streets and shot them. hmm

No comparison. The IRA were fighting over territory. Their aim wasn’t to wipe out every English Protestant on the mainland!

I think the reaction from WM would have been very different if it was.

What is Israel, if not territory?

People have their opinions about what makes a good leader. I think Jeremy Corbyn would have made a wonderful leader. But the media along with the right wing in the party were actively working to loose the election, also Blair and Mandeson. So democracy did not prevail. Do you want a leader like Blair a warmonger who took us to war a million people killed, destroyed Iraq which has become a breeding ground for terrorism and Mandelson a friend of Epstein, giving advice to Starmer. Mandelson is no friend of working people.

Most right-minded people have a bad feeling about it.

A Lot of people around who are far from right minded.

All this “two wrongs don’t make a right” and diplomacy is the only way are just empty words.

When will people realise Hamas won’t negotiate, won’t compromise? If Hamas laid down their weapons life in Gaza would improve dramatically and, in time, the walls and blockades would come down. If Israel laid down their weapons every Jewish man, woman and child would be killed. I don’t know why it’s so difficult for some to grasp.

I do, however, have grave concerns that Israel are being led into a trap. For Hamas to launch such a savage attack, knowing the response would be overwhelming military action, I fear they have something else waiting. You must understand they have no concern for their citizens. They don’t care if Palestinians die as long as they achieve their objectives.

I have a bad feeling about this invasion.

I totally agree with everything you have said.

Hamas have more up their sleeve…

I don't find it incredible that Putin has offered to intervene. That's what he did in Syria.

No two wrongs don't make a right. So all Hamas have to do is release the hostages and then all this will stop. Will they do this? errr No! In that case, what should Israel do? Wring its hands and plead for their release?,oh I know, the UN, they'd sure to be able to help!!! Hostage negotiations taking 5 + years? Well what then? Hamas has managed to stockpile weapons of all kinds, but seemingly cannot stockpile necessities for its own civilians, not so much as an air raid shelter! What sort of government treats its population like that?

Indeed! I don't stand with the Israeli government nor Hamas. I stand with the people of Israel and Palestine. We're about to witness a humanitarian disaster and all we can do is watch. It's heartbreaking beyond belief.

Israel has given the civilian population 24 hours notice.

Hamas did not offer the young people at the music festival, the elderly in their homes, the babies and children in their beds any notice whatsoever, before they butchered, raped, burnt, tortured and kidnapped.

I assume you can see that?

Where are the civilian population meant to go*to*?

You do realise. that they can't leave Gaza, don't you? That the Gaza Strip is 25 miles long and 5 miles wide and contains 2 million people? People who can't get out of it. They are going to be destroyed.

They have been told to leave the North of Gaza.

As there is not going to be a diplomatic solution anytime soon, do you honestly think Hamas can be left to recoup, rearm and ready themselves for the next round of atrocities?

It is heartbreaking, and I weep for the civilian population, Hamas knew that there would be repercussions, they knew that the Israel’s would respond hard and swiftly, this is all firmly in the laps of the terrorists.

Terrorists can never be allowed to get away with committing atrocities.

By the way the only person who has offered to mediate is President Putin, which I find incredible and unacceptable.

Yes, I can see that. Like you, my concern is for all the innocents caught up in all this.

Where are the residents of Gaza supposed to go?

All they can do is move a few miles south and live in the rubble there. There are about a million of them.

We can all see that, it was horrendous. but isn’t it just as heinous for Israel to take such mortal revenge on people who for the most part are innocent of any crime.
They have no place to go and no means of going anywhere.

The only thing Israel can do now is to finally rid Gaza of any trace of Hamas. For their own future protection and for the Palestinian people.

I think that to do that Israel would have to totally obliterate the whole population of the Gaza Strip.

It looks as though Israel is almost halfway to achieving its objective. Half the population of Gaza have been told to evacuate their homes withing 24 hours. Presumably, the Israelis are giving them notice because they're about to carpet bomb north Gaza.
