A wise move? Or will he come to regret it?

ronib Mon 13-Nov-23 14:56:34

Started off today in some shock and realise by now that this is the last gasp cabinet reorganisation. Probably and hopefully not heading towards revolution but maybe even some improvements? No harm living in hope?

Sorry PM!

AGAA4 Mon 13-Nov-23 14:54:46

Thank you Casdon. I certainly wasn't expecting that. I read a news snippet early this morning which stated a former MP would be brought back. I thought Please not Boris!

Yes I know but Sunak was never voted in by the Tory members Liz Truss was but after another coup/back stabbing session they got rid of Truss like they did Boris and the loser Sunak was promptly inserted into position of Prime Minister. So now we have an unelected back stabbing PM and a flounce of the first order as Foreign Secretary. Cue Nadine another book perhaps 🤔

I’m beginning to wonder whether bringing Cameron back was a very clever move.

How so? Genuine question.

I think it was clever in that it’s completely distracted the media from Braverman’s sacking, it has the ‘I wasn’t expecting that!’ factor.

Coffey was Truss’s buddy wasn’t she?
I’m amazed she lasted so long.

Steve Barclay is Ms. Coffey’s replacement

Cabowich Mon 13-Nov-23 14:25:44

Coffey was one of the least effective Environment ministers ever, and they have had some dreadful ones.

I couldn't agree more. Every time one goes, I hope they will be replaced by a better one - but they just seem to get worse. I'm very pleased she's gone but almost dreading to see who her replacement will be.

Theresa Coffey has resigned.

Sorry, but I just can't help it - she certainly was a real sh*t show, in so so many ways!

Would love to have been a fly on the wall at the over a hour long meeting that led to Coffey’a resignation.

Sunak is doing some serious barrel scraping in the the reshuffle

😄 it is clearly empty as he has resorted to a failed PM.

The Conservative Party has more drama than EastEnders. Instead of governing the country, they seemed to be lurching from one crisis to another.

Never liked Ms Braverman. She is so elitist and so out of touch with the suffering of the ordinary people especially the homeless.

Some leader, wow.

Krishan was better here than dancing on Strictly, bravo

the is of course the ERG's puppet. They have all gone quiet- a bit like toddlers, it is very worrying when they go quiet. What are they plotting now?

ronib Mon 13-Nov-23 13:38:34

Dinahmo sinning really sums it up!

Fleurpepper Mon 13-Nov-23 13:37:41

Kandinsky

Hopefully she’ll come back as leader.

I do wonder what world you live in Kandisnky.

We know she is the puppet of the ERG - and she has been sacked twice- the first time for seriously putting the UK in danger - and was then made Home Secretary, unbelievably, in the circumstances.

A 'leader' - just incredible comment.

An unelected Prime Minister and now an unelected Foreign Secretary, perhaps Sunak thinks its a smart move, but I don't think the voters will, but what do I know 🤔 I'm finished with the Conservatives I'm voting Reform at the next general election.

We do not vote for a PM. We vote for an MP. The sinning party can then elect whoever they like. Admittedly an MP will be leader of a party at the time of a GE but there is no reason why they cannot be changed at a later date.

foxie48 Mon 13-Nov-23 13:24:14

And also not fair on those who should have benefitted from our Overseas Aid budget and haven't!

foxie48 Mon 13-Nov-23 13:23:09

Pammie1 Your comment about Bobby Ewing really made me laugh, thank you!
MerylStreep good at least they weren't relying on Rwanda and barges, just a pity they have let numbers build up while they wait. It is not fair on asylum seekers, not fair on the public purse and not fair on communities that feel disrupted by having large numbers of asylum seekers housed in their midst. Other countries deal with many more asylum seekers than we do and do it humanely and quickly, we have been shockingly bad.

Racingsparrow Mon 13-Nov-23 13:20:45

Do you honestly think that the protest was not a “hate march”, did you not see the banners of the marchers.

3nanny6 Mon 13-Nov-23 13:14:16

Good glad she has been sacked and has gone how she got in and had power was too much it all overwhelmed her and her remarks about so many issues was becoming a huge concern and she had ridiculous ideas. Bye Bye Suella or should that be Cruella.
