Tommy Robinson was arrested at today's march against Anti Semitism. Today's good news. (apart from the hostage release)

From the Guardian:
In a statement the Met, asked about Yaxley-Lennon’s arrest, said: “At around 13.30 on Saturday 26 November, officers working as part of the policing and security operation for the March Against Antisemitism arrested a 40-year-old man on the Strand.

“He had refused to comply with a direction to disperse under section 35 of the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act.

“We have been in frequent contact with the organisers of the march in recent days. They have been clear about their concerns that the man’s attendance, and that of those who were likely to accompany him, would cause fear for other participants. The same view has been voiced by others.

“As a result, he was spoken to and warned on more than one occasion that his continued presence in the area was likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to others. He was directed to leave the area but refused to do so.

“We’re aware that the man had suggested he was in the area as a journalist. This was not a relevant factor in his arrest.”

Amalgera "That Choudhary man" is currently under arrest. The police have requested that the case is not discussed, in case the trial is prejudiced.

its NOT Hamas' flag its Palestines .The Palestinian people are not terrorists ...no more than Israeli's who have burned people out of their homes or demolished their home in front of the people who have owned it for centuries or the IDF ...dont they shoot KIDS WHO THROW STONES?
There are massive problems from BOTH sides'

I agree with you that most Palestinians are not at war with Israel, however, the Palestinian cause of owning the land and being evicted by Israel is entirely incorrect. The Judeans lived on that land for over 3,000 years, a historical fact which has been entirely overlooked, such is the hype and hypocrisy surrounding Palestine.

Hamas rules Palestine, creaming off money to their top echelon and not distributing it to their people. It is rather like that of the Mafia. People 'owe' Hamas who may lend to them or help in some way and are therefore trapped.

You write ' ...no more than Israeli's who have burned people out of their homes'.
Have you forgotten the Israeli families who were burned alive inside their homes on 7 October? Or, the mother and child whose burnt bodies were found lashed together with wire and set on fire?

Israel sent targeted rockets into Gaza City after giving a warning to the civilians that they were going to do so. These rockets were sent to apartment blocks where a Hamas operative lived or had rocket launches in situ.

If you look closely at television footage, you will actually see that yes, some apartments have been blown up (could it be that the force of such an explosion could be not from one rocket but from the armaments that were being stored there?) but there are also many buildings still standing. This does not make good TV, who prefer to only show rubble but if one looks closely, they can still be seen.

You write 'or demolished their home in front of the people who have owned it for centuries'.
I refer you to my first paragraph, despite shouting loudly, the Palestinian people have not been owners of that land. They are relative newcomers.

You write 'or the IDF ...dont they shoot KIDS WHO THROW STONES?'
Perhaps you are familiar with the story of David and Goliath? Rocks kill. The 'children' who 'throw' (i.e. use strong catapults) are often fully-grown young men. Perhaps a little like the Palestinian 'boy', aged 19, who has been released from an Israeli prison on the hostage exchange scheme for 'just' stabbing to death a policeman. He was swapped for an innocent old woman and children.
These are strong young men, not 'kids', brought up to hate. They have nothing, as Hamas gives little. Are you aware that Palestinian electricity, water and power etc., all came from Israel? Hamas rule and terrorise their communities which is how they keep power.

You may ask yourself why this war was begun by Hamas? Could it have to do with the fact that Israel and Saudi Arabia were signing a peace agreement? This would marginalise Hamas, hence war, as they are fighting for their own ends, not those of the Palestinian people.

Israel has no truck with the Palestinian people but it does with Hamas who want to kill them.

I have a huge problem with British people jumping on a bandwagon of 'poor Palestine' without understanding the history or complexity of the region. One wonders why?

Candelle Who are the current Judeans? When did they stop owning the land which is now Palestine?

growstuff Tue 28-Nov-23 15:45:57

I have a huge problem with people who twist ancient history to justify the actions of the present day.

Known as Tommy Robinson.

I seem to be in the minority here but I am a supporter of Tommy Robinson. He is doing what a lot of people are afraid to do and that is making a stand against the Islamisation if Britain. I don’t agree with any violent tactics and the inciting of trouble but more people need to wake up to what Britain will ultimately become if we don’t.

Again a very good post from Candelle. Thank you Candelle, always the voice of reason.

Psalm 137

137 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?

An exile of the Jewish people from Judah, part the Kingdom of Israel.
Jesus was probably a Judean.

How many times has the land been stolen?

maddyone Tue 28-Nov-23 17:56:53

It’s always been said that Jesus was a Jew from Judaea;

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea…..

Cava Tue 28-Nov-23 18:00:14

Candelle thank you

I agree Nerakh … I wish people would see what is happening to this country.

I think it's people from a geographical area.

I heard a young Palestinian speak on the radio saying how his cousin was just one of many youngsters arrested without having committed any crime. He has been released but has lost half his body weight and is ill. How can any nation treat people like that. Feel so sad the way they have been treated.

maddyone Tue 28-Nov-23 18:16:42

Did you think he’d admit, on camera, a crime he had committed?

maddyone Tue 28-Nov-23 18:17:14

Or his cousin had committed?

Susieq62 Tue 28-Nov-23 18:24:56

If you read the Hope not Hate organisation and their info on Tommy Robinson, they have a lot of detail about how much he owes to a person whom he wrongly accused of racist actions.
He is a nasty, dictatorial person who needs to pay his dues. I have no respect for anti Semitic people or anti Muslim folk. He stirs up trouble wherever he goes. He is a disgrace to our nation.

LovelyLady Tue 28-Nov-23 18:30:07

I’m not a fan of Tommy Robinson yet there appears an in-balance - it seems some just refuse to use his chosen name. Why? He has the same rites as others in UK to use his chosen name. He was evidently there as a journalist and freedom of speech is still what we’re entitled to, thus far. At least I thought so BUT the government may have differing future plans regarding our rites to freedom of speech and freedom to identify using a chosen name. Like or dislike him, he has in the UK, the rite to freedom of speech.

devilsice1 Tue 28-Nov-23 18:54:10

He broke the terms of his order I think

foxie48 Tue 28-Nov-23 19:09:00

"Like or dislike him, he has in the UK, the rite to freedom of speech."
Lovely Lady of course he has the same rights as anyone else but what he doesn't have is the right to instigate violence and there's a lot of evidence that that is precisely what he does. Surely, if you want to defend free speech there has to be more worthy candidates than TM? He is basically a nasty football hooligan, no decent organisation wants him "on their side" because he's a very unpleasant racist so no friend to Muslims, Jews or any right thinking person. He marched with thugs to the Cenotaph on Armistice Day, really you think he's been hard done to?

Galaxy Tue 28-Nov-23 20:22:24

No defense of free speech means you defend the speech of people you loathe otherwise it is not a defense of free speech it's a defense of people I agree with which is easy.

Cold Tue 28-Nov-23 20:31:17

Robinson is just a thug who loves stiring up trouble and leading his band of thugs into battle to get publicity. Like the fights he caused at the Cenotaph (although he hopped in a taxi to leave his supporters to get arrested)

His views seem very flexible depending upon which bandwagon he wants to jump on. He is no friend of Jewish people - a few years ago he appeared in court to support someone later found guilty of antisemitic hate crimes.

So what was his real motivation for attending this march?
