Anyone going to be reading his latest swipe at the Royal Family which comes out tomorrow?

Me neither!

Some journalists do write fiction

‘^A storyteller who transcends the bounds of journalism ^. Sounds accurate.

Well if you're looking for a cheap Christmas present this is a suggestion, described as below, on Amazon
Definitely, it's in the dog's Christmas stocking. 🐕

(For those not in the know, he chewed up a hardback copy of Meghan misunderstood, and is due for some more tasty shredding!) grin

One Amazon review suggested it could make good, cheap fuel for the fire.

Or if we have another loo roll shortage - stock up now!

Don’t want to risk blockages though, the paper will be weighted down with tall tales and discrepancies.

You have a point there …

Charles should never have written to meghan after the oprah interview...... extracts now appear in the book of course. The palace should take legal action.
www.eonline.com/news/1390547/king-charles-wrote-letters-to-meghan-markle-about-skin-color-comments-after-oprah-winfrey-interview
To refresh, one month after the interview aired in 2021, the Telegraph reported that King Charles III had written to Meghan expressing his sadness over how the family had become divided, and his regret that she and Harry has chosen to share so much publicly. Omid's book now provides more details on this alleged correspondence.

Per the book, sources said that Charles wanted to make clear to Meghan that he didn't feel the remarks regarding skin color were made with "ill will" or "casual prejudice." His daughter-in-law then tried to explain how the conversations were an example of, per Endgame, a "lingering unconscious bias and ignorance" that needed to be addressed.

Charles’ letter sounds very reasonable, an attempt to pour oil on troubled waters, but Meghan was obviously not open to anything like that.

Wonder what the Queen Mother would have made of all this? It was reported that she expected servants to be ‘oyster’ about family matters, everything kept within the royal household.

Goodness knows what she would have thought about close family members blabbing about everything.

Doodle Tue 05-Dec-23 15:13:11

I wonder if any of Megan’s family wondered whether the child would have red hair…….another type of bias.

Mollygo Tue 05-Dec-23 15:26:00

Her lingering and unconscious bias towards anyone of a different colour perhaps?

M0nica Tue 05-Dec-23 15:42:29

including her father

Joseann Tue 05-Dec-23 17:24:25

So what did Meghan expect Charles to say? That he would enrol himself on a training course on unconscious bias?

eazybee Tue 05-Dec-23 18:40:21

I just find her letter a gross impertinence. I think Charles has been amazingly tolerant, but I don't think William will be.

How patronising!

Did any of us hear the phrase, unconscious bias on a daily basis ad nauseam before Harry and Meghan? We used to talk about racial prejudice but not in a way that practically accused every white person in the human race of an unworthy existence.

Harry’s own past racism is his problem to deal with. I’m sick of him assuming that we’re all guilty of racist behaviour just because if he hadn’t met Meghan he would have probably carried on behaving like an immature, entitled brat!

lemsip Tue 05-Dec-23 20:28:46

charles should never have put pen to paper to meghan of all people! it will be rolled out over the years even when the king has gone!

I have not seen the book on sale in my W. H Smith or Waterstones yet.

Smileless2012 Tue 05-Dec-23 22:53:02

He just didn't realise how much she wanted to attempt to bring him and his family down, but H & M have done far more damage to themselves then they could ever inflict on the RF.

Boz Wed 06-Dec-23 09:54:16

I suspect the Offices of the RF have a file of accusations of bullying by Markle that have been suppressed by kindness or something. I would not be surprised if a few leaks appeared over the next year.

hollysteers Wed 06-Dec-23 10:20:34

Apparently after Harry was born, Charles allegedly said something along the lines of “Another red headed Spencer”.
I can imagine him making some sort of remark, not racist and taken out of context.

eazybee Wed 06-Dec-23 10:25:41

I believe that remark was reported by Diana some years later.
True?

I am sure they have a very long list, some of which has already been leaked somehow.

M0nica Wed 06-Dec-23 12:28:17

Don't most families make remarks like that when a baby appears? The first thing we noticed with DGS was that he had prehensile toes - just like his grandpa - and we commneted on it and grandpa took a shoe and sock off to demonstrate that his big toe was separated from his other toes almost like a thumb.

We commented that DGD was born looking worried, just like her father. We all do this - dont we?

Smileless2012 Wed 06-Dec-23 12:42:42

Yes of course we do. We wondered if our first GC would have red hair hmm maybe that's why we ended up being estranged.
