So it appears that oil CEO Sultan Al Jaber has used his position as President of the talks to push his company’s fossil fuel interests. He is reported as having said ‘there is no science indicating that a phase out of fossil fuels is needed to restrict global heating to 1.5C.’
It rather begs the question, why is he the president and why are the talks being held in a country which has a massive vested interest in continuing oil production?
Cynical? Moi?
