Johnson “hard done by” good god!

Look at his political and employment history! I enjoyed his blatantly put on boyish buffoonery on Have I Got News For You, because he had a personality and was amusing! I appreciated him much less when he became London Major and spaffed all kinds of public money on water cannons and a garden bridge. From the moment he entered parliament he was a walking disaster.

Sadly, imo, he’s a liar, an adulterer, someone who never takes personal responsibility for his actions and I don’t believe his “sorry” speech at the Covid Inquiry.

All Johnson has ever been sorry about is being caught out!

As others had stated though, Trump and Johnson might just bluff their way back into politics.

Frankly, the world has gone quite mad!

Fairycakes, assuming you’re serious, what exactly about Farage would make him a good PM? Aside from his obsession with Brexit and Mugrants, I know nothing about his policies/beliefs/views on the Economy, NHS, (ooops maybe he wants to privatise this), Education, how he would deal with our huge and growing number of British Homeless, Veterans, Transport, University Fees, and so on and so on. I have heard nothing from him ever about anything other than Brexit/EU/Migrants, our world is about so much more than this!

Why indeed? I have literally no idea!

If Nigel ever got that far I’d definitely vote for him. I never thought id say that but he’s the only one considered about our country but as for the rest no chance none of them speak for me or even look like they know what they talking about.

Of course, not being registered with the commission means that it doesn't have to comply with electoral law.

Totally agree about that dreadful right-wing rag pushing for a Johnson come-back, when he lied and lied and lied! The right of the Tory party have no scruples - they’re just in it to line their pockets. We just have to hope that the public sees through them and keeps both of these narcissists out of government.

It’s absolute fine to rubbish the opposition, but at least read their manifesto/pledges/policies so you’re aware that they actually do have some:-

Johnson & Farage are two of the most loathsome people we've ever had the misfortune to encounter in politics, Johnson is a liar, adulterer, I wouldn't vote for him. He should have stuck with entertainment, which he is a natural for.
Whatever people think about Starmer he gets my vote because Labour are mostly ordinary people who know what it's like living on a budget and will rearrange the NHS since they started it in the 1st place. I don't so much vote for a person, but a party & they have a history of caring for the working classes & thats what I want.

Back in 2015 or thereabouts he suggested the NHS "might" have to be replaced by a system of private health insurance.

However, he had to back down and declare his support for a state-funded service because he didn't persuade his UKIP colleagues to go with the idea. They wanted to widen the party's appeal and did not believe that health privatisation would go down well.

As you say, 'it' is about much more than the EU and Migrants ('Brexit's been "done", hasn't it?)

As a free-market libertarian, I suspect his economic policies would not be difficult to fathom.

There is a new The Rest is Politics Leading which interviews Angela Rayner. I haven't listened to it yet but it sounds very good. She must be quite remarkable to have achieved what she has given she had such a difficult childhood.

My panic subsided when I saw the article had been in the Mail. Do people actually read that rag for news or a laugh?

The Daily Mail is the best selling (paid for) newspaper in the UK. So it must be doing something right.
Actually I read the Mail for some very good articles one of which was in their Health section. Without a feature on a new ground breaking cancer operation, which neither our GP nor her specialist had heard of, my daughter would not still be here. I thank the Daily Mail every day
