Nick Brown will not stand at the next election and has resigned from the LP

I am guessing he was on the left of the party.

He was under investigation re allegations made 25 years ago, was he not forced to ‘come out’ 25 years ago ?

Another thinly veiled attempt to have a go Glorianny. I’m not going to argue with you about this case, there are as many holes in what he has said about his resignation as there are in Granny’s net curtains, and as you already know there’s an independent complaints process in the Labour Party now.

Has he fallen on his sword? If there was nothing to fear and he’d done nothing wrong why not stay and fight his corner?Maybe he’s happier retiring.

Undoubtedly he has reached the age for retiring. But he should be going with acknowledgement of the many years service he has given the party. Instead he has been suspended from the LP for 15 months and has had no results. Surely any enquiry should have a time limit. His lawyers have advised him that the process has become so complicated it is inadvisable to carry on. I would imagine there is a financial cost as well.
Because the issue has not been resolved he will not be able to join the party as an ordinary member. It is a shabby way to treat someone with 40 years service to the party
