I'm hoping that Sunak loses and takes the Tories with him. Someone on another thread (my apologies for not checking who) posted that Sunak paid tax at 22% on his income in 2022.

I could not believe this but it's true -I checked. His combined income and capital gains (after allowances and reliefs) was a little under £2 million and the combined tax was £432,493.

Two votes here for Reform, The Lib Dems are finished with EdDavey as leader although perhaps he will resigns like he often shouts for others to do 🤔 Reform will be the new third party that's my opinion and as well as taking votes from the Tory party I think a lot of Red Wall Seat voters who turned Blue for Brexit (Boris) will also vote Reform. As for cries of what's Reforms policies well what are Starmer's policies to cancel Rwanda if it ever gets the go ahead, well I don't think that's a vote winner not with Red wall voters and previous Brexit voters do you, unless some live in a little bubble. No its a discussion about the words losers and winners in terms of electoral success. Johnson was very successful in winning an election, whether I agree with him is irrelevant to that.
On the other point, I think it's possible Reform may become an electoral force, small parties tend to be vulnerable to infighting but if they can avoid that its possible. The Tories tend to behave quite bizarrely after an election defeat, so there will probably be a few wilderness years! There are a group of people not represented by any party at the moment, they may head to reform, particularly if there is a charismatic leader there.

They are going to print the money to provide all these great benefits.

Unfortunately, though they have grasped that a state can issue as much of its own currency as it wants to, they haven't understood that they'll need to tax back the excess to control inflation.

I dont pretend that people losing an election is actually a success, Corbyn and his followers continue to try that, it is a disaster for the people the labour party is supposed to help.

And Johnson's majority was 'won' on a minority of the votes, as parliamentary majorities usually are under out FPTP system..

He was a loser in the end, resigning in disgrace and leaving the country poorer and still divided.

I suppose one's definition of 'loser' for a politician or a political party depends on whether you count personal aggrandisement or achievement of positive benefit for the country as a measure of success.

What exactly is Reforms plan?

I googled their main aims a while ago and found that they want to reduce taxes - the tax threshold would be raised to £20,000, abolish tuition fees, limit immigration and others I can’t bring to mind. Apart from saying they want to encourage growth they don’t say how all this would be funded, I can only assume they believe in a small state and would cut down welfare payments. If anybody is seriously thinking of voting for them I would say research what they want to do and ask yourself how they are going to accomplish it.

You just know when you get to the 'stop pandering to woke' bit that Reform is a deadly serious and high minded new party which reaches out to all members of the electorate in a spirit of unity and healing...😂
