I see Trump took New Hampshire. Surprised?
I was surprised, because we have friends in NH and AFAIK Eastern US states like NH do usually tend to vote Democrat.
If an item on the news last night is anything to go by, the drugs issue is a massive one.
The journalist interviewed a woman whose son had died through a dose of fentanyl, which is apparently a huge problem in the US, and Trump had specifically spoken of tackling fentanyl head on, via the supposed route from Mexico.
So the woman in question was certainly voting for Trump.
What I fail to understand, is why the Democrats can’t or don’t find a more inspiring leader than Biden! If the rules need changing, then change them - but then I dare say the Republicans with a say would veto any change that would be detrimental to them.
So the woman in question was certainly voting for Trump.
A "single-issue" voter? The woman, understandably, will have strong feelings about the matter of illicit drugs. Which makes me wonder how many people vote for Trump similarly (on single-issues).
What I fail to understand, is why the Democrats can’t or don’t find a more inspiring leader than Biden!
Does it, in the end, all come down to money?
Like you, I can't believe that there are not younger, more eloquent and energised possible candidates. But - would they attract the donors?
