Replacement for Rishi Sunak!!!!

Heard on the news that Sir Simon Clark is encouraging Tories to oust Rishi Sunak or face a defeat at the General Election. He is saying that a new leader who will lower taxes and be tough on immigration can prevent this. I wonder who he is considering for the replacement. Having just seen on tv the unbelievable sight of Trump parading as a potential president in America I couldn’t but compare him to his look alike and equally egotistical Johnson.(Remember what a vote catcher he was supposed to be.Forget Corbyn who handed his majority to him on a plate) Or what about Liz Truss or dare I suggest Farage? The story is spread over the Telegraph so what now? So the infighting goes on while this country suffers.

I believe parts of Number 10 have been redecorated by Mrs. Sunak, but there has been virtually no reporting, as all leaks have disappeared. Vast criticism of Carrie Johnson at the time, not a word since she was replaced. How strange.

Not at all, I expect Mrs Sunak has quieter taste. She is also a sensible woman who doesn’t boast about her life.

Does she even live there?
I wouldn't if I had all her money.

Will Dry is a former adviser to Rishi Sunak and now with Conservative Britain Alliance, the outfit who commissioned the recent YouGov poll on the Tory wipeout.
It’s suggested by one blog that Will Dry is now working to bring down RS. Will Dry was associated with Kemi Badenoch and had tried to reverse the Brexit referendum result. Not bad for a 26 year old - Guardian also reporting on this story.

Correction a different Kemi it seems not Kemi Badenoch.

Don't think Carrie boasted about hers either. Gutter press did it for her. At least she didn't claim non domestic status.

I have gone through my paper copy of the Guardian at least 3 times, ronib and I can find no mention of young Will Dry. I have to say that someone who had tried to reverse the Brexit result sounds highly unlikely to have been an advisor to pro Leave Sunak grin. Though I've seen an anguished twitter thread this morning bemoaning lack of loyalty! I also think he's unlikely to be deux et machina in removing Sunak... cog in the wheel, maybe..

She did. She’s on Instagram.

MaizieD the article in the Guardian is online. Sorry I haven’t worked out how to post it on here. Also on Guido Fawkes online and elsewhere.

Don't you have copy and paste functions on whatever device you're posting from?

You just copy the URL (the 'address' in the bar at the top) and paste it into your post.

ronib Thu 25-Jan-24 12:55:49

Tom Ambrose in the Guardian - no my phone doesn’t seem to let me copy and paste! But it is online…..

MaizieD Thu 25-Jan-24 13:02:57

It must be a very old phone?

However, if you know you can't paste the URL more information as to publication, date and author is always helpful for the person who has to search for it. So thanks for the name... grin

ronib Thu 25-Jan-24 13:29:40

MaizieD no the phone isn’t old - but the brain using it is!

MaizieD Thu 25-Jan-24 14:41:37

You're never too old to learn, ronib grin

Though, I have to admit that I have an android phone, a mini iPad and a laptop. While I can copy & past on my phone I really CBA to fiddle around with that stupid little screen and miniscule keypad... I'm rather impressed by Gnetters who use a phone as their only device...

Tom Ambrose
Former advisor to Rishi Sunak
working with Tory rebels to oust him

I thought it might be interesting ….. but …

Callistemon21 Thu 25-Jan-24 14:52:53

I don't use a phone, too small and fiddly.

Callistemon21 Thu 25-Jan-24 14:56:20

I'm rather fed up with unelected SPADS thinking they're in charge and/or are Kingmakers.

Will Dry looks about 12 in his photos 🤔

It’s easiest to do it using the share icon, which offers a copy option with no need to highlight the URL.

The point I am labouring to get round to is that the Labour Party needs to be wary of interpreting YouGov polls in particular.
I don’t think it’s a good look for Rishi Sunak to have employed Will Dry in the first place. (If he did?) Or does this fall back to Dominic Cummings? What a web we weave ….

Keir Starmer is no fool tonib. He has consistently said that he knows that thee will be a swing back to the Tories from the current high Labour margin predicted by the polls.

MaizieD Thu 25-Jan-24 16:36:31

That YouGov poll was a joke, ronib. For a polling company which tries to portray itself as reputable and reliable it was utterly ridiculous. I can't think how they allowed it to happen.

So Mr barely Dry round the ears helped to write the questions hmm

ronib Thu 25-Jan-24 17:01:07

MaizieD it’s great to agree with you!! Quite….. 26 years old and an Oxford graduate but what on earth is his game?

Larry the cat is their only hope. Good rat catcher too. Good looking and great personality.

Larry is very upset that you would saddle him with leading the shower that is now called the Conservative Party.

I can't see any point in replacing Sunak now. It's too late.
And anyway, there is no-one very inspiring, is there.

Agree unless they can produce an AI contender!!!!!!!
