It is illegal to walk the streets with a lion on a lead for a very good reason. I see no difference with these dogs. No amount of debating the sanity of the owner removes the fact that the lion is dangerous.

A little bit of an exaggerated comparison As the XL bully is not a definite breed many unfortunate crossbreed dogs can fall under the wide description given out by the law made. Some have probably lived in family homes for years quite happily. Why should they just be killed for the way they look.

I do find it hard to imagine anyone who wishes to own such an animal being described as responsible.

Pretty sure some of them are. The problem is it's not even a recognised breed.
When it comes to euthanasia they are looking at the wrong end of the lead.

All these XL Bullies need destroying. There is no need for anybody to own these beasts.

What about those that have responsible owners who have done everything to comply with the law and the dogs haven't actually done anything wrong why should they be put down ?

I am afraid that I am of the view that all these dogs should be put to sleep. They are a manmade product feeding the egos of macho men. They need to be eliminated.

The poor little boy lost his mum, and now his nan has died so horribly.

I think people who own dogs like this should be charged with manslaughter. Especially in cases like this where the dogs were neither registered nor neutered and people had expressed concern.

Am I understanding this correctly? The poor woman who died, was actually killed by the dogs that belonged to her son in law? So the little boy who witnessed it all happening was actually witnessing his own father's dogs kill his grandmother? Is that right? OMG.

This is a total nightmare for the rest of the family to lose their mum in such dreadful circumstances a horrible painful frightening death I would think the grandson will be in shock for ever

I’ve skimmed the Guardian and the DMail. Yes, 6 puppies and two adult dogs. The DM reports none of the dogs had been registered, so on that basis alone, an offence was committed. The dead grandmother had allegedly said the dogs were dangerous. She’d gone to visit her grandson who saw the attack.
It’s well known that any bitch can be protective of her litter.
I hope the owner is charged with manslaughter, which is so far as I know, the most serious offence he faces.

Yesterday, I saw 5 xl bullies being walked on pavements, all were wearing muzzles as is now mandated. I have 2 dogs currently, often had 3 in the past, including rescues and fosters. I’m boringly cautious about where mine get to run off lead because there are so many dogs running wild

Dogs everywhere I go. And I am disgusted as to why some people want to own these dreadful breeds. Blame the owners.
