The PM continues to demonstrate amazingly poor taste!

First he lets himself to be talked into a £1000 bet over his Rwandan policy with a TV presenter. Then at today’s PMQs he cracks a transgender joke in front of Brianna Ghey’s mother (sat in the gallery). Is he totally unable to ‘read the room’?

He put his foot in it yesterday when he announced, without any clarification, that King Charles's cancer 'had been caught early on'.

This has been 'bugging' me too - does he know that?

According to the BBC News that night, the Palace had made no mention of where the cancer is or the stage it is at. It was reported they were none too pleased.

Kindly don’t be so childish and insulting when I shorten your name to initials DAR.

Still inexcusable as Sunak knew she was in the building. Then for him not to apologise when the labour mp gave him the opportunity (whilst asking her question). Sunak quite simply has no idea what goes on in “normal” lives. Why does he want to be PM i ask myself?

To make money for his family by making useful Trade Agreements? It's hard to see what it could be Oldbat. He clearly isn't suited - even the other Tory MPs don't think so.

^Brianna Ghey was killed because she was trans, a judge ruled today, as she sentenced the two 16-year-old serial killer obsessives who murdered her to life in prison.^

From the Daily Mail

It seems some still want to stir the hatred that led to this - including Rishi Sunak.

Here are the judge’s sentencing remarks. She did not say that Brianna was murdered because she was transgender. In part, maybe, but not solely ‘because’. As you know, I always go to the primary source and I would never trust the DM’s version of anything.

Discussing issues is not stirring hatred. It is a complex issue. Sunaks contribution is not helpful but the issues continue to need to be discussed.

No discussing issues is not. The way they are used to stir an already bubbling pot may be. I dont think Sunak was looking for a discussion.

Thanks GG. I heard it on Sky News at lunchtime. I’m not in the habit of making false statements DAR.

And obviously you trust what the DM reports.

She was not in the gallery at the time.

Just because you say so Germanshepherdsmum? Or are you going to tell us where you got that little gem that makes it all alright then?

It was reported that Mrs Ghey was not in the public gallery by the BBC in its 4pm news broadcast on Radio 2.

According to one of our tory supporters Mrs Ghey wasn't in the gallery at the time. So that seems to make it OK. It's not as though she's likely to read/hear about it in the media hmm

Brianna Ghey’s murder was appalling, but it doesn’t mean that the nation can no longer discuss the trans issue.

It surely means they consider the presence of a mother, grieving for her murdered daughter, who was killed at least partly because she was trans - or do you really not care?

I agree GrannyGravy and think I'm right that the fact she was trans did not motivate this appalling act.

Not according to the account I read. Trans was a contributory issue.

The girl who was convicted for the murder had a list of various other teenagers on a kill list, non were transgender.

The girl wasn't the only one convicted of the murder, Oreo

Keir Starmer has made some remarkable statements - not least telling Rosie Duffield she couldn't say that only women have a cervix. I was tempted to ask where he keeps his. Mrs. Ghey was not in the gallery. Her daughter was not murdered because she was trans.

This is what I understand too from the reports.
I’m a Labour supporter, lifelong in fact, but wish Starmer hadn’t chosen to make a minor political spat at PMQ’s into a big thing by naming Mrs Ghey who was in the building that day. It’s just not on.
Starmer shillyshallying the other year on what a woman was didn’t give me any confidence in him as a Leader either sadly.

Good heavens. You're making it worse, GG13. The 'trans issue' was not under discussion at the time.. Sunak makes a completely tasteless and inappropriate jibe but it's OK because we can still discuss the trans issue?
