He’s a gifted blamer of others Namsnanny, I’ll give him that much.
That's interesting, where is the money made from blaming others even being gifted at it, I don't see the ruse?
It means he stays in the spotlight he craves.

So what has William said?
‘End to the fighting as soon as possible”
“Terrible human cost of the conflict in the Middle East since the Hamas terrorist attack.
“Desperate need for humanitarian support to Gaza” and for hostages to be released.
Good for him I say and many in U.K. would second it. It’s not different to the government’ revised stance is it?
Exactly that. Is it whether the human cost is terrible that's controversial? Or the idea of humanitarian support for a disaster zone? Or the hostage release?

How damning - of you Glorianny prepared to decide that anyone with money or an upper class upbringing by definition has nothing to say that could affect anyone else.
How would you feel if someone made some comment about women over 50 not being worth listening to, or university students as a bunch have nothing useful to say? or possibly all the Rohinga people or the Uighirs.
It is the same mindless naming of a group, depersonalising them and then condemming them that lies behind most of the conflicts in the world. But posh blokes have been telling us all what to do and what to think for centuries why on earth should I have to listen to them now?
They have no more expertise on the subject than the ordinary person. They only have press coverage because of who they are.
The other groups you name are minorities and it would be good to hear more from them. But it's posh blokes who get the press coverage.Just remind me how rich Farage (man of-the people…bit like Trump really) is…
Just asking MayBee70 .... how much money does it take to class someone as rich?
I'm wondering where I fit on the list

Everybodies opinion should be treated as of equal value.
All this stupid stuff about posh blokes. There have been hierarchies since time begun and who ever was on top told the others what to do. In various cultures at various times it has been different people whose power was based on lots ofdifferent factors, parents over children , patriarchs over the whole family, matriarchs as well, teachers, employers over staff.
These easy peasy, get a quick laugh or feel all nice about your virtual signalling, is just a sign of lazy thinking. Give eberyone their due and treat them with respect.

You've got a long way to go. Farage got £1.5 million for I'm a Celebrity.He's worth about£3.5million
There's some question about how much he made in the City before he went into politics.
He’s not terribly rich then, and certainly not ‘posh’.
Well no it's not really true that everyones opinion should be treated with equal value. My opinion on volcanoes is of less value than someone who has made studying volcanoes their life work.
I am entitled to my view on volcanoes but people would benefit much more from listening to the other fellow
Farage is posh ? 🙄
Just why the hell did anyone ask Farage's opinion anyway? What's it to him? More importantly, why did someone interview him and broadcast it?
Haven't you been reading the threads HousePlantQueen? all our viewpoints are valid, so why not NF?

I agree Farzanah
It wasn't political, it was a hope for peace.
He was visiting the Red Cross at the time.
It never even occurred to me that anyone would criticise him for this speech.
I have no problem with Prince William speaking out about Gaza, but perhaps since he has done, he could now address his thoughts to Ukraine. I will never understand why Gaza (rightly) gets so much support and sympathy, but Ukraine gets so little.
Why?

He did, when visiting a Ukrainian cultural centre here two years ago.
I'm pleased that Prince William spoke up. Every word was carefully considered, they said. He's not monarch yet and perfectly able to comment.
As for 'posh bloke, ' how very dismissive
of a man who is obviously intelligent and caring. Lots of so called posh blokes do have a brain and do care.
Walter Bagehot writing in the The English Constitution (1867).
The Sovereign has, under a constitutional monarchy such as ours, three rights:
• the right to be consulted,
• the right to encourage,
• the right to warn.
Prince William said: "I remain deeply concerned about the terrible human cost of the conflict in the Middle East since the Hamas terrorist attack on 7 October. Too many have been killed.
"I, like so many others, want to see an end to the fighting as soon as possible. There is a desperate need for increased humanitarian support to Gaza. It's crucial that aid gets in and the hostages are released."
"Sometimes it is only when faced with the sheer scale of human suffering that the importance of permanent peace is brought home. Even in the darkest hour, we must not succumb to the counsel of despair," William said. "I continue to cling to the hope that a brighter future can be found and I refuse to give up on that.”
The statement has been issued after it emerged Prince William is set to carry out a series of engagements to highlight the plight of all those affected by the ongoing conflict. In the coming days he will meet with charities in the UK that are providing humanitarian support in the region and will hear about the conditions faced by those working on the ground. He will also join a conversation at a synagogue with young people from a wide range of communities to acknowledge the rise in antisemitism around the world. (Sky News)
Farage claims that Prince William is telling Israel to stop fighting and giving a free pass to Hamas. He isn’t. He wants an end to the fighting on both sides as any humanitarian would. His words are those of encouragement.
I think he should keep right out of politics. Wasn’t Charles 1 beheaded because he was too involved with the political side of things and didn’t they pass a law to make monarchs just figureheads with no input ? He is not a politician and to me it is the thin end of the wedge for someone in his position to speak out. Nothing to do with Nigel Forage oops Garage oops Farage.
Well actually nanna8 it wasn’t anything like a political speech it was simply a man speaking from his heart saying he wished for peace and humanitarian help for the poor people caught up in the war
I think even the queen would have portrayed her upset over a war
This has just been blown up by ‘the the nasty one’ and run with by people who haven’t even probably listened to his words
I don’t know why you say Ukraine isn’t talked about Maddy the radio I listen to goes on about it all the time
However, she famously broke this rule by expressing concern about the Falklands War. During a state visit by the then US President, Ronald Reagan, the Queen said: “The conflict in the Falkland Islands was thrust on us by naked aggression and we are naturally proud of the way our fighting men are serving their country”.
The Prince of Wales is perfectly right to speak out.
I think the royals should keep their opinions to themselves. Where politics is concerned, they must be seen to be neutral. Princess Anne is someone with strong opinions but she sticks to what she is paid to do....cutting ribbons.
Glorianny please can you let us know when you consider someone to rich and posh ?
I would hate to waste my time answering your questions only to be dismissed as rich and posh
