BBC reports that Prince William has pulled out of attending Greek funeral for personal reasons… any ideas?

I believe the RF have the right to keep their health private. They’re under huge pressure. Kate’s surgery was clearly signuficant. Three months recovery is a very long time. The King is undergoing treatment for cancer. Many of us have experience of cancer treatments, often gruesome and exhausting.
Whichever way we look at it, William is carrying a lot of practical and emotional pressure

My guess is that he heard the circumstances of his cousin Gabriella's husband's death and went to be with her.
I think your guess is plausible RosiesMaw. It seems they were quite close as kids.
But what do I know?

One it of good news is that apparently Sarah Ferguson has been told that her skin cancer has not spread.

I’m very glad for her.

EEJit your name is very apt!

to seek out and post on a thread to 'mind your own business' is daft to say the least.

Katie59 Sat 02-Mar-24 10:02:11

Although this thread has concentrated on health issues William was probably told of Tom Winston’s suicide before the funeral and the shock understandably made it impossible to make the speech.
The last thing he would want was to break down in public.

Although the police statement on the 27th mentioned “no suspicious circumstances” that did not tell the whole story.

Could be.
But I think Katherine is more determined than Diana. She worked hard to get him. She'll probably turn a blind eye and think of the crown.

Glorianny rock bottom and still drilling comes to mind when
reading your posts

Who’s Katherine?

deedeedum Sat 02-Mar-24 10:53:01

I agree with Katie, probably the shock of hearing about the death of his friend. We learned yesterday that it was possibly suicide, an even greater shock.

Anniebach Sat 02-Mar-24 11:10:17

I think so too.

Unlike above, the facts are PW has lost a mother he loved, a brother he loved, his loved Father is ill, his wife is very ill, and now he has lost a friend to a brutal suicide.

It's a lot for anyone.

You really do hate Catherine don't you? Never miss an opportunity for a nasty dig, it says a lot about you, not her.

Agree Rosie

I don't hate Catherine (apologies to her for the K). Why is it a nasty dig to say she has worked hard? Or that she might want to be queen? More to do with your preconceptions of how a woman should behave I think. Nothing wrong with a strong ambitious woman.

Anniebach Sun 03-Mar-24 10:10:17

Like Megan and Diana

Smileless2012 Sun 03-Mar-24 12:33:49

That's not what you said though is it Glorianny. You said "she worked hard to get him" and at the very least implied that she's only concerned with being Queen when you said "She'll probably turn a blind eye and think of the crown".

I agree with Rosie, it's a nasty dig.

Rosie51 Sun 03-Mar-24 12:43:23

Thanks Smileless. Glorianny twists everything More to do with your preconceptions of how a woman should behave I think My preconceptions? From where have you got any idea of my preconceptions? You've referred to Catherine on other occasions as a 50s housewife and definitely not a strong ambitious woman, indeed you contrasted her to strong independent Meghan. Your spite is plain for all to see, back pedal all you can, it won't conceal it.

I agree with Rosie, it's a nasty dig.

So if I said of the CEO of a firm, "She worked hard to get there" and "She always had her eye on that job"
Would that be a "nasty dig" as well? Or is this purely related to Royalty? Or some strange standard you set for women?

You said "she worked hard to get him" and at the very least implied that she's only concerned with marrying a Prince....

Now, if anyone said that about Megan we'd be accused of all kinds of things!

Callistemon21 Sun 03-Mar-24 12:48:21

When in a hole Glorianny ...

Glorianny Sun 03-Mar-24 12:48:27

And lots of women turn a blind eye to their husband's indiscretions for a lot less than a crown. Is it being "nasty" to mention that?

Aveline Sun 03-Mar-24 12:50:41

In this case Glorianny yes.

Meghan worked hard at lots of things, so possibly did to catch Harry.
She has been accused of not working hard enough at fitting in with the RF.
I wonder which is worse to accuse a woman of not working hard enough or to say she worked hard?

Glorianny Sun 03-Mar-24 12:52:20

Aveline

In this case Glorianny yes.

Oh I see because they are Royal? Sorry don't mean a thing to me.
