Dogs and cats on planes sitting with passengers.

Thank you. Yes, he is one in a long line of dogs who have travelled the seas with us. We are always considerate to other travellers, we even put a muzzle on him as requested on the car deck, not that he even flinches.

I thought it was strange, and a misleading advert, what with tables and chairs out on the deck?

It seems P&O are giving dog owners an upgrade.
I'm a frequent traveller, I don't like this idea of pets being allowed everywhere.

P&O, for a charge, have a pet lounge and a small area on deck where dogs can get some exercise. They most certainly aren't allowed everywhere.

Have you ever travelled with a restless-screaming 4 yr old, well it’s not very nice either in fact it’s really dreadful 🤬

On our flight yesterday there was hardly any room for the passengers to sit, imagine sitting next to another passenger and a hissing cat in its basket.

Crammed in doesn’t describe it well enough, we had ‘extra legroom’ seats, but the pet owner won’t be able to book those.

I doubt it will be a fun trip for anyone involved.

I've only ever seen one obvious drunk on the plane and he fell asleep pretty soon after takeoff. It's certainly not what my niece who is cabin crew reports on any regular basis. Maybe you need to change your airline if that's a regular experience?

I’ve never seen a drunk passenger on a plane, or a dog, cat, or any other animal. Having said I have only ever flown Ryanair twice (because no other airlines went to the destinations we were going to) but there are regular reports of disruptions on Ryanair flights due to alcohol. Mind you, the two times we used Ryanair, they were quiet and uneventful flights, both out and back in each case. We have heard babies crying sometimes, but it usually doesn’t last long, and there’s little the parents can do if the baby is fed and changed. Animal are a no for me, little humans are fine (if one kicks the back of my seat I turn round and give them a glare, it’s usually successful.)

I have no problem with it. It can't be worse than travelling with some of the children's behaviour I have had to put up with. In fact I think I'd prefer it.

I would rather have a dog sitting next to me than a kicking, screaming, snotty nosed human brat that, as a woman, I supposed to instinctively find delightful.

In fact I'd rather have a dog/cat/pony sitting next to me than most humans.

At least the child won't poo or pee on the mat. To be cleaned up by whom!! Think of the stink. Badly behaved children can be brought to task, along with the parents,by the staff.

Children and adults poo and pee on planes. Several planes were grounded recently because of badly soiled seats and even the central aisle. The staff usually have their hands full with drunk or deranged passengers. As for parents bringing their brats to task, have you been out lately Freya?

If a falcon got out I'd be under the seat with the cats and dogs.

No flying for me then. I have allergies to cats and dogs, even so called hypoallergenic dogs. Hopefully it's only on short flights. I'd be so sick at the end of a trans Atlantic flight.

Quite a few airlines in the Middle East allow Falcons to fly in the airplane

No animals on board as far as I am concerned. And I have two dogs.

In late 90s I travelled to quite a number of places in Indonesia. Wasn't uncommon for piglets, chickens to be in cat carrier style baskets on the plane, Most of the flights would now be considered internal flights. Never any bother, the animals seemed to sleep most of the time.

I have been on various flights with animals & always wonder how people with severe allergies cope,it’s actually very inconvenient for the person sitting next to the pet,one flight the dog barked & cried most of the way,definitely not relaxing.

I am feed up with the cult of the dog. Why are they in busy shops? I don’t have anything against them if well trained but am feed up with badly behaved dogs jumping up me and generally being annoying. When booking accommodation I skip past all those that allow dogs!

If you take your cat sailing you have a life-belt for it, made like a coat for a dog, Obviously you put it on the cat before an emergency arises, in other words before embarking. No problem at all.

Plenty of airlines already allow you to take a cat in a cat carrier with you. Presumably, only small dogs will be allowed in the passenger cabin, and I imagine they will be required to be crated.

It would be well worth suggesting to airlines sthat they reserve certain seats well away from those who are allergic to pet hair, or just do not like pets, as obviously no-one who becomes ill due to the proximity of a cat or dog will want to risk travelling near one for pet owners travelling with their pets,

Dogs are allowed on cross channel ferries. What I don’t like is owners walking them on deck to urinate before done leave their dogs in vehicles. They do have kennels on board for dogs

On Brittany Ferries, there is a designated dog peeing area with a hose to rinse the ground. The dogs shouldn't be on the passenger decks at all.
