Some of the posts on here are getting rather silly.

There is a Ministerial code governing what Ministers must do about private shareholdings, especially where they are significant. The Sunaks may be the richest family to live at No 10, but many previous ministers had significant business interests. Michael Heseltine set-up, owned and ran The Haymarket Press, and he is not he only one.

The code cane be found at www.gov.uk/government/publications/ministerial-code/ministerial-code#ministers-private-interests Specifically in Section 7. I suggest some people on this thread wipe their fevered brows and read it, before making suggestions that we do not have rules like these in this country.

Narayana Murty was a co-founder of infosys. His wife provided the capital for the startup.
No doubt what Sunak's wife stands to 'earn' from the company is mere chickenfeed to the Sunaks but it still raises a concern over conflicts of interest.

I thought that the UK was a firm supporter of Ukraine; to be doing business with a company that is trading with Russia is not a good look.

AsMOnica has pointed out above, there is a ministerial code to be adhered to. However, most importantly, not a shred of evidence has been supplied to support the allegation of the contract referred to by the OP.

Dinahmo Fujitsu was a British company n the UK. Fujitsu UK is the old British company ICL.

I believe (but will google shortly) that Infosys is something to do with Fujitsu who developed the disastrous Horizon system.

I am going to check this though, before I get flamed.

The information I got was on a news site,I hold my hand up to the fact Mrs Sunak ONLY has 1% but her family are major shareholders and 1% of 35BILLION is still a fair amount of cash,so its a nice wee earner for daddy and ,money in the kitty for them when daddy pops his clogs.
I thought giving contraccts to family was unethical...oops its the tories...nothing is ever ethical with them!!

OK, to update my previous post. Infosys is partnered with Fujitsu and has been since 2003. Mrs Sunak received £6.7 million in dividends from her shares in that company in 2023.

Meanwhile the vilified postmasters will probably die without a penny.

Mrs Sunak’s family are not major shareholders in Infosys and there is no evidence of a £35bn contract Paddy. You say you got this information from a news site but nobody else has found that site. What site is it? Do you accept that Infosys did not ‘go under’ after receiving furlough money?

As regards Infosys being ‘partnered with’ Fujitsu, companies frequently enter into joint venture arrangements for projects - however Mrs Sunak and her family don’t have a controlling interest in Infosys and are not in a position to direct what it does. I own a lot of shares but I don’t control the companies.

Note that in the Budget speech, Hunt said exactly this:

Making changes on the scale we need is not cheap. The investment needed to modernise NHS IT systems so they are as good as the best in the world costs £3.4bn.

But it helps unlock £35bn of savings, ten times that amount.

I also saw it in The National (online) but it's been removed.
Whenever l see something in The National that proves to be inaccurate l wonder what news it's trying to deflect

If you Google "Sunak wife 35 billion" this post/thread is the first result that comes up. That thread can then be posted anywhere - someone read it and posted it to Facebook.
All posts/threads (as far as l know) can be found if you put the relevant search words into Google.
