I won’t be voting Reform, thanks very much and the only people I can see voting for them are disillusioned Tories, so a split for the Tory party. 🥳🥳🥳
I have never heard such nonsense as white people stating “I don’t want my GC growing up ashamed of their colour”
Honestly, you couldn’t make it up and Reform are welcome to 30p Lee, Farage and anyone else who thinks this way!
It’s one up from spoiling my ballot paper by writing ‘none of the above’, I’d have to do that otherwise as (a) it’s important to me to actually use my vote and (b) because I’ve become politically homeless right now which is dispiriting. And who knows? A few more who feel like I do (well, okay - thousands more!) could not only ‘send a message’ but actually make a difference.
🤞

Will Anderson resign his seat and go for re-election. He signed a motion supporting this view, that any MP changing to another party should resign and go for re-election?
Of course he won’t!
We will have a GE in months. Why bother at this stage?
If a party (I use the word loosely in the case of Reform) has no chance of forming a government why waste your vote?
Germanshepherdsmum
You really think they have a chance of forming a government? 🤣🤣🤣
Not really. Wishful thinking GSM!
However, it shows the direction they’d like to take. Another value that aligns with mine - I’ve been spouting about this for ages!

Well, it will be interesting to see how extreme his views have to be to get him chucked out of Reform. Anderson doesn't wish people well, he is the Katie Hopkins of politics.
Err define extreme views please. Is wanting to control immigration both legal and illegal extreme,I personally don't think so, that's why people voted for Brexit and the Red Wall seats some who had never voted anything other than Labour voted Conservative to control our borders and reduce immigration and were badly let down by the Tories, Labour will be worse if/when they get in but I'm not giving them my vote again and I won't be the only one turning to Reform the only party that cares for Britain.

What I do think is that Anderson should do the decent thing now and resign as an MP , which will trigger a by election in which he can stand as the candidate for Reform. That way the people of Ashfield will get their say. I never agree with MPs who change their party mid term continuing as an MP for a different party than the one whose banner they were elected under.
He isn’t going to do that as he has found a very comfy seat the on the gravy train that Cayzer Trust money and some of the electorate of Ashfield put him on in 2019 and GB News have compounded.
His majority in Ashfield is less than 6,000. He was destined to lose his seat anyway if his big mouth hadn’t lost him the Tory whip. Labour kicked him out so he has nowhere else to go to try to keep his flagging career alive.
We know that the Tory Party has set a very low bar for departmental ministerial office but in over four years and with constant changes, even a succession of bad Prime Ministers have known that he isn’t fit for office, so they shunted him to a deputy admin role.
He is a dishonest thug with a big mouth and no talent beyond the ability to whip up division and hatred so he has found his tribe.
Reform UK are no more than disruptors. Its economic policy looks to have been written on the back of a beer mat and is utterly risible but no doubt some part of the electorate will fall for it as evidenced here just as they did with Lee Anderson and the many other poor Tory candidates in 2019.

Reform UK will raise the Personal Allowance. I should think so too! It’s dragged so many into paying more tax. Sneaky that.

Don't be so rude, perhaps read the above posts about skin colour etc.
Skin colour has never bothered me in the slightest growstuff (and I think you know that really from some of my previous postings. See pic (which I have used before on occasion).
But values really do matter to me and I make no apologies for that. I want all who come here to do well but just as importantly - to WISH US well. Surely there’s nothing wrong with wanting that?

Benyamin Naeem Habib (born 7 June 1965) is a British-Pakistani businessman and politician serving as Co-Deputy Leader of Reform UK since 2023, alongside David Bull. He was elected as a Brexit Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the 2019 European parliamentary election. He remained in the role until the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU.
The Reform Party's Ben Habib is mixed race.
and?
Good that's where he belongs, with a bit of luck he'll lose his seat at the next election and disappear into obscurity. He's a thoroughly unpleasant man with some very unpleasant ideas. At least by joining Reform he's being true to his views instead of trying to pretend he's actually quite decent.

Appropriate party for him. Reform party are saying what some people want to hear, are divisive, irresponsible and dishonest, but this does not seem to concern people. Anyone who believes that any party who promises net zero immigration and zero NHS waiting lists can actually achieve this, needs to have a reality check. It is the food will be cheaper and other countries will be queueing up at midnight to sign trade deals with UK, ie all the Brexit lies all over again, and despite the reality of the past 6 years, some still believe the snake oil salesmen.

What’s there about skin colour that people should be proud about? No one gets much choice in the matter . What they should be proud of is not to care about anyone’s skin colour. The sooner we are all coffee coloured the better in my opinion.
I couldn't agree more, but it does seem to bother bigots.

^With an ethically Arab father, I wonder what skin colour they'll have^
growstuff remember the RF got castigated by Meghan for those very thoughts?
Yes, you should remember that!
Personally, it doesn't bother me in the slightest what colour skin my grandchildren have, but it obviously bothers extremists like those who support Reform.

I want my grandchildren to grow up not ashamed of their skin colour or their country’s proud history. I want statues of our national figures kept in place. I don’t want trigger warnings on our classic literature. I don’t want my grandchildren lied to in school by being told that a man can be a woman. I want my granddaughter to be able to have safe spaces and to be able to compete in sport. I want to control who is coming into my country and for my government to leave whatever organisation that they need to in order to achieve that.
As for other religions, go pray in peace in your places of worship and follow your religion’s customs but don’t try and force me to adhere to your religion’s rules. Do not threaten those who have a different view of the world to you. Learn English and embrace our values and we will all get along. If you don’t then I want you to leave, it is as simple as that.
I want low taxes and a small state and I want the ideological nonsense that has infected the civil service removed. I have decided that Reform will do that.
Vote Reform UK.
I want my grandchildren to grow up not ashamed of their skin colour too! I don't have any grandchildren yet, but there's a strong possibility. With an ethically Arab father, I wonder what skin colour they'll have. I'm so pleased you think they should be proud of it Urmstongran.

Agreed, in fact I think Mr Anderson himself voted for such a reform. Oh but reforming the wrong party!
I do.
