Don't bother, found the article. Brendan O'Neill has his own agenda I don't actually disagree with him about Biden and Cameron but I do disagree with his premise that it's ok for aid workers to get killed cos they're just accidents in a war. Warfare has come a very long way in terms of accuracy since the events he mentions.

Imagine how we would feel if 2,000 of our youngsters were massacred by terrorists, or taken hostage and raped, from Glastonbury music festival? What would a proportionate response be?

We would expect nothing less than our government taking whatever action it needed to stop a recurrence. Hamas have brought this ghastly thing on themselves, and their leaders smirk in comfy homes in Qatar, while the Iranian paymasters stir and stir and stoke the fire.

Hamas and ISIS care not a jot for the suffering of their fellow humans. Israel is doing the heavy lifting for everyone.

There are political movements in Israel. Gantz has called for an early election and Lapid has called for the current government to resign. If you know anything about Israeli politics Netanyahu has a very slim majority, it will take very little to bring the government down. There have been big protests in Israel against Netanyahu. Fingers crossed. Israel needs a change of leadership, it is Netanyahu who has got them in this mess and many innocent people are paying with their lives on both sides!

Ships loaded with food and supplies for Gaza have turned back now and other humanitarian aid agencies have suspended operations.

Israel claimed to be trying to target Hamas but deliberately targeted the food aid convoy.

That's the bottom line as far as I'm concerned. Of course unconditional supporters of Israel won't sanction it publicly, but they'll claim it's "false news" and nod their heads when Israel claims it's doing it all it can to protect civilians and prevent starvation.

The IDF has now made an admission that the strikes against the WCK convoy was targeted and deliberate, but they claim there was "misidentification".

So now there are conspiracy theories/propaganda(?) that World Center Kitchen is working for the CIA and the Global Solace employees were spies. WCK has now halted its operations to deliver meals by sea, which means that people will starve. I wonder whose interest that serves?

I just heard the MD of Global Solice interviewed on the BBC.

The conspiracy theories are all over Twitter (X) - as if X posters actually know the truth!

Global Solace employs people in conflict zones all over the world. They provide security and intel to NGOs working in some of the most dangerous areas in the world. WCK would have seen Hamas and looters as possible enemies, not the IDF, with whom they had shared their planned movements. Little did they know!

Other aid agencies have now halted operations. UNRWA has already been smeared. It seems that any help available to Palestinians caught in the conflict is being scuppered.

The whole population has been intimidated and indoctrinated for that time, the UN can only operate with the permission of Hamas, all of the aid workers do and say what Hamas allows, all the journalists do and say what Hamas allows.

GG13 I would think the security was provided to try to prevent International aid workers being kidnapped by Hamas and used as hostages. As was mentioned previously there have been many incidents when aid workers have been taken by terrorists. I doubt they would have been there to protect them against the IDF. Yes, it's a tragedy, three separate attacks, they didn't stand a chance.

I wonder whether the remaining hostages are, variously, dead or have been abused to such an extent that the world - Israel in particular - would react yet more violently that hitherto. I very much doubt that many hostages will report benign conditions in their captivity.

In regard to surrounding countries and their abilities to now cope with more refugees, they are saying, "no". This is a long article ahead addressing the issue,

You missed out the ‘regret’ part Wyllow. It speaks volumes as to the reasons I mention.

Those countries are not hostile to ordinary Palestinians. wiki:

I will never support extremists but unwilling to use their actions as a reason not to address the long standing and now critical situation ordinary Palestinians find themselves in.

Two countries let them in:

Jordan in the 1960s — and in 1970 the Palestinians tried to overthrow the Jordanian king Husein. So he threw their leadership out in “black September”

Then in the 1980s the Lebanese let the PLO in, and they regret it to this day. What was a flourishing country and a real tourist pearl is now under Hezbollah regime with zero human rights and Iranian and Syrian “Consultants" heading the country to oblivion.

What might that be ?
