It has just been announced on BBC news ( 6.00pm) that the King is resume some of his face to face duties. They showed a photo to mark his and The Queens anniversary, I thought he looked as he lost weight in the photos but still smiling happily at his wife.

So good to have some encouraging news about the King’s health.

I must admit I held my breath when I turned on the News and saw his photo.

I'm no great fan but nonetheless absolutely delighted for him. Also thought that anniversary photograph of them was decidedly pleasant.

DH read things online from foreign news sites but the the BBC comes along to reassure us.

I'm pleased but hope he doesn't overdo things; he will need to pace himself.
So much progress has been made in treating cancer and there are many people who are in remission now.

The Crown has been in good hands while you were away, Sir - but welcome back!

DamaskRose Fri 26-Apr-24 21:38:37

Good news and a lovely photo.

This is really good news isn’t it?
He looks well although I also thought he had lost a little weight, which I guess is only to be expected.
It’s a charming picture. They look so comfortable together.
Camilla I believe, still has her own home as an occasional ‘bolt hole’.
Maybe that’s the secret!

How great to have this good news.
And what a nice photo.
They look so happy together.

What a lovely natural photo.

As Charles grows older, he starts to look very like his father on occasions, and this ‘side’ view of him is one of them.

Good news indeed

I think the love they have for each other radiates from that photo 💙🩷

Good news and let’s hope his recovery continues. Catherine’s absence is noticeable isn’t it. It’s hard for William, his father and his wife in treatment

Lovely photo. I hope his recovery continues.

We are trying to give the Princess of Wales some privacy mae13.

And that was not funny.

It was offensive

I think it's great that he has been open about having cancer. Also his visit to a cancer centre will give a boost to anyone going through this horrible disease. Proof indeed that it can happen to any of us.

Not being much of a Monarchist I have to say that is one of the nicest 'Royal' photographs of late.

There's something quite poignant about the way Camilla has linked her arm through Charles' arm, it's both casual and affectionate.

... and the way he's grinning at her - probably they've shared some private little joke?

Kate1949 Sat 27-Apr-24 11:24:15

I'm not a monarchist at all but anything that can help give comfort to cancer sufferers is welcome.
