Johnson got turned away at the polling station

Reason? - no ID

Sky news.

Poppyred

I’m sure he’s not bothered….

I think he knew what he was doing.

Grantanow Sat 04-May-24 08:44:16

Perhaps the Buffoon should be microchipped.

Sarahleigh Mon 06-May-24 11:06:50

I think he did it for attention. He did come back later with ID.

maddyone Mon 06-May-24 11:15:28

Does it matter?
Apple he went back later with ID.
Is it really newsworthy?

maddyone Mon 06-May-24 11:15:41

Apparently…….

Love59 Mon 06-May-24 11:20:14

Sad that it has become necessary to show ID in order to vote

LuckyFour Mon 06-May-24 11:20:17

I've just been working as a Poll Clerk and nobody forgot their ID. Not a single person.

spabbygirl Mon 06-May-24 11:21:55

Cossy

What a complete twit his man is! (Don’t wish to be barred!)

How I wish he had eaten his ID, but then again it would be the first time ever that he kept his word!

Idiot!!! He's doing it to show his bumbling but loveable old fool persona and hopefully win his way back to our hearts. I wish he'd eaten his ID too, but as Calliestimon above says, it's way too much to expect him to keep to his word.

JRTW2 Mon 06-May-24 11:59:28

He returned later. I’m sure it was a publicity stunt

Grantanow Mon 06-May-24 12:03:01

Marydoll

It certainly is delicious!

Don't they know who he is? 🤣

Does he know who he is?

Goldieoldie15 Mon 06-May-24 12:28:33

Oh just an augmented photo opportunity. Anything for a spot of publicity. Inveterate liar. I just feel sorry for those who believed him. Only now we are all of us paying the price. Shame eh!

Lizzie44 Mon 06-May-24 12:46:39

I'm sure Boris enjoyed the publicity.

Growing0ldDisgracefully Mon 06-May-24 12:57:51

What a (insert your own insult here).
All well and good being able to have postal voting to avoid this silliness - if the necessary paperwork is posted to voters on time, which has not been the case in some areas.

DamaskRose Mon 06-May-24 13:00:09

Whether it was accidental or deliberate he is still an idiot.

Neilspurgeon0 Mon 06-May-24 13:01:59

I have sad it before and I will say it again

W⚓️ of the week

Callistemon21 Mon 06-May-24 13:05:22

I have heard tell that Carrie is taking him to be microchipped, in case he gets lost and has no identity on him.

dizzygran Mon 06-May-24 13:54:13

It was a publicity gimmick - made the news and we all heard about!! Boris is shrewd - he knew what he was doing.

Mallin Mon 06-May-24 14:48:07

When voting, a couple of helpers were worrying that a man who hadn’t given an acceptable ID stated that he was returning home to get his tv licence to prove who he said he was.
They happily accepted my bus pass with a nearly 20 yr old photo on it.

undines Mon 06-May-24 16:18:39

Wouldn't surprise me if he did it on purpose. Not sure why, but don't trust him an inch. Any news is better than no news.

Happygirl79 Mon 06-May-24 16:38:06

Louella12

And I've just been reading that it was more than likely deliberate.

This was my first thought. He wants his name in the press.

NotSpaghetti Mon 06-May-24 16:43:43

I'm not sure I'm actually sent a TV licence anymore!

maddyone Mon 06-May-24 19:00:19

I don’t understand why so many of you are getting your knickers in a twist over this non event. He’s not even an MP anymore.
Calm down dears.

4allweknow Mon 06-May-24 19:42:13

I think he "forgot" intentionally. Either testing the system showing a publication or something with reference to him or just wanting a bit publicity. He returned within a very few minutes with acceptable ID.

Granra2 Mon 06-May-24 19:55:28

Here in Northern Ireland we’ve needed photo ID at the polling booth for years. It helps to decrease election fraud and it’s not a problem for most people. There are many acceptable forms of ID.

netflixfan Mon 06-May-24 22:03:54

I can’t help but suspect he did it on purpose for fuss. Pathetic.
