I have ears and can tell an upper class accent when I hear it, just as I can tell a Welsh, Scottish, Irish (north or south), Asian, French accent etc.

The protestors on U.K. campuses or on the marches are more than happy to be interviewed to get their points of view across.

To be anywhere near a demonstration where people are shouting through megaphones, joined by other people, a slogan that is, in this case anti-semitic, is going to be extremely intimidating to any Jewish person in hearing distance, when those doing it are part of a very large group, even in this country, were they to be close to the group and rcognised, they would almost undoubtedly be the subject of physical violence.

But people asked why demonstrators are wearing masks. That seems to indicate that they have no knowledge of the fears Palestinians in other countries have for those still living in areas controlled by Israel. What else is not knowing and not understanding?

As others have posted upthread, not a day goes past where we hear from Jewish students on U.K. uni campuses who have been intimidated by pro-Palestinian supporters.

I do wonder why a fair few of the pro-Palestinian supporters, here and abroad feel the need to cover their faces with a Keffiyeh?

If you knew anything about me or read myposts Freya you would know I live near one of the most easily identifiable group of Jewish people in the UK. They have lived there for many years and I hope are free from any abuse or attacks. Certainly none have been reported.

Most UK Jews are not easily recognisable. I think it's reasonable to ask how anyone on a UK campus identifies a Jewish student.
