I'm going to vote Labour cos I like most of their policies, I'm not keen on Starmer but I think he's been deliberately canny to avoid the awful headlines Corbyn got, they started the NHS so I trust them to fix it and it irks to pay lots for the dental treatment that till the tories got in I got for free. There are so many failures from this gov't, they've taken my tax and given me a worse service and I'm furious about it. Sewage in the rivers is just one example of greed and irresponsibility of the conservatives so I can't wait to be rid of them.

I will NEVER vote Tory. My Labour candidate is working her socks off in order to get rid of our Tory MP who does not live anywhere near here @nd has filibustered so much in the H of C
I am concerned that Starmer is not strong enough to lead but I hope he is!
How anybody vote for a party who has made such a mess of my country is beyond me. I live in a very deprived city in the North of England . There is no levelling up here

Keir is far far tougher than most people seem to realise.

Always labour here. I don’t necessarily agree with everything that will be in their manifesto but I think that they have more in common than the Conservatives with the ordinary people in this country, and they just come across as kinder people. Sometimes governments have to make tough decisions but often it’s about how you do something rather than what you do.

We are stuck between a rock and a hard place! First ask question who is really responsible for austerity, Gordon Browns Government that borrowed to the hilt and sold off our gold reserves leaving no money or leeway for incoming Government who basically had no choice but to try to reduce debt. Bit like having a credit card, you cannot keep borrowing without paying anything off. The pandemic hasn’t helped out debt and it will take years to pay that off. The cost of WWII was not paid off until December 2006! I do not trust Keir Starmer, he changes his mind as often as he probably changes his underwear, and I think his Premiership may have a similar life span to that of Liz Trust because I have a feeling the far left will oust him for Angela Rayner & Co. In all honesty it is the Civil Service that run this country, they are the ones advising Ministers but when there is a mistake it isn’t the Civil Servant that goes is it. Apparently 2000 extra Civil Servants were taken on to help during Covid, that was four years ago and those CS are still in place, once they’re in you can’t get them out, it’s a job for life with a very reasonable pension. I truly worry about what will happen in the next five years.

Made such a mess of the country by keeping people and businesses afloat during covid, getting covid vaccinations rolled out, giving people money to help with increased fuel bills and increased cost of living due to the war in Ukraine, helping Ukraine with military equipment and training, keeping the triple lock …

Surely it’s down to competence . The current government has proved incompetent after 14 years in power . Just ask young people with mortgages . The country is broken . Sewage in our rivers , NHS waiting list ….. list is endless. If a builder came to your house and his work wasn’t good would you continue to employ him rather than at least try another one !

I agree, Galaxy. There is a lot of nonsense and tragedy around the 'transgender' issue. I have every sympathy for anyone who genuinely believes they are in the 'wrong' body, but that does not mean they can just choose to be the other sex. And people being demonised and penalised for speaking the truth - well, that has very alarming connotations. A Y chromosome is a Y chromosome. I wish I could 'choose' to be a 20 something supermodel! The whole transgender matter has, in my opinion, been 'talked up' - it used to be a problem for the extremely few, now young people are encouraged to think they can choose, it's confusing and feeds into body dysmorphia. As for teachers having to be careful about pronouns - haven't they got enough to contend with? As teens we are all confused, and I firmly believe there should be absolutely no question of any interference with the body until at least age 25. It's not unusual for individuals to feel they have made the wrong choice. I personally know of one in particular, a woman transitioning to a man, now with a full beard, deciding she/he wants to be May Queen. Men 'deciding' they are women is leading to some huge problems for women - if you've got a penis you should not come into a women-only space, for goodness sake! So, to return to the original question, I am only intending to vote Labour to get the ghastly hypocrite that poses as our current MP, out. The current government have been disgraceful, but sadly I have absolutely no faith that Kier Starmer will do much for peace, living standards, or common sense. What have we come to?

I voted Tory in 2019 for the first time in years because I didn't want Corbyn and his fan club running the country, not because I loved the Tories and Boris, same as millions of people in the North. Now it's different: the local Tory MP is almost invisible and past caring( I think she's standing down), we've had the Truss disaster, and Sunak is weak and a poor leader. OTOH Labour are much better with Starmer, but I'm still not convinced, and I was thinking about Reform, but they won't win any seats. The Greens aren't my scene and the local Lib Dems are very weak, so stuck.

If only we could get Andy Burnham at the helm!

I am voting for Plaid Cymru, always have, always will, they are the only party who have the best interest of Wales at heart.

My local MP Peter Kyle is Labour. I like him a lot (until he was given an opposition government job) and he has now forgotten about his constituants! Then there is my local council who is conservative - who is fantastic - constantly fighting a useless labour council!
So I understand your confusion. Look locally to you and ask questions to them!

Previously been a Conservative voter but could not bring myself to vote for them again. As for Labour, don't think so. Not much choice left really, will listen to all the debates and then decide. Would never NOT vote.

We need a few more independent I believe.

I live in Scotland , so SNP for me. Glad I don't live in England as don't know what I would do down there.Regardless of the result , Scotland will still be governed by the parties chosen in England , same for NI and Wales as we just don't have the same amount of seats.What we really need is electoral reform, first past the post needs to go and we need a move to proportional representation , like we have in the devolved administrations.Then we will have a true democracy where all the parties have to work together for the common interests of all.It works elsewhere.UK is one of the only places where fptp still exists, it has no place in modern society and belongs in the colonial past .

Sorry but Labour have not got themselves into a fit state to govern yet. Read about Starmer's 'career' - not very competent and not showing integrity. Then look at who is at his elbow.

I'm 'tribal' labour/methodist - but will be voting for Rishi to form the next government.

It's a tough one, this. I've always voted Tory but can't see me doing so again for many years to come. I've never voted Labour and still can't see me doing so - ever. The Lib Dems are a laugh and Green is not a party but a policy that all parties should have. So for now I guess I'll default to Reform UK
