Sad. No one gets married to get divorced do they?. They’re hoping to stay friends and keep things amicable. Such a nice couple.

Nobody different. Just DH and my aunt

I am another one who don’t know this couple, though I have heard of him but havnt heard of her.

Always sad when a relationship ends, I have close family considering similar. It’s hard on everyone , especially any children. Hope they manage it with good grace and minimal rancour.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Well Eamonn aired his views on the split on tv on Friday (I think it was). So maybe we are not as prurient as some think.

Surely something like this is a personal matter between those involved and should not be something to be discussed by all and sundr, poking and examining them like specimens frogs on a slab ready for dissection.

Eamon was an anchor on GMTV in the ‘90’s - and now he's on GB News. That's obviously why I had no idea who he was/is.

Ruth, according to Wikipedia was on TV as well - on This Morning and elsewhere. She was a celebrity on Strictly come Dancing too - but I don't remember her.

I don't find it surprising that i don't know them!

lemsip - I didn't post on 26 May and my actual post was on 1 June. Not 'odd' at all.

Oh I would love that. I could be passive aggressive to the nation grin

I wonder if being in the public eye affects relationships. It seems nothing is private any more.

It must be awful if you've had huge argument and aren't talking, then you have to be all smiley on screen.

I've no idea who they are and why their status matters to me.

from 26 may
now on 2 june you say... 'why there status matters to you?

odd

I’m quite surprised some GN’s haven’t heard of them. Eamon was an anchor on GMTV in the ‘90’s and had a much publicized fall-out with his co-presenter.
He’s done stints on various tv programmes, done adverts on tv with Ruth and I understand he is now a presenter on a different news channel. I’m not familiar with new ‘celebrities’ nor am I saying I like him, but he is quite well known.

I have just had to Google them to see who they are. I am out of touch. I didn't know either of them (though confess had heard the names I think).

Lots of us do know them and simply feel sad at their separation. They seemed such a lovely couple.
That's all.

Quite surprised though thought they were forever just shows you.

Jaberwok Couldn’t agree more. Not at all ‘news’ worthy.

Can't believe that this totally unimportant piece of gossip is either news or politics. Tbh who cares? More suited to the chat thread?!

Probably a mistake in posting. Easily done.

We all make errors, big and small.

Not an error. Yes we could ‘chat’ about it but it was headline NEWS in several papers yesterday.

If I didn’t know something and then I do I have been known to say ‘That’s news to me’ 😂

I like Eamonn but he’s had terrible health problems over the last few years and is in a lot of pain. I read she feels less of a wife, more of a carer. In sickness and in health, for better or worse……….

paddyann54 Sun 26-May-24 10:56:08

He was a very handsome young and middle aged man, some wold say Ruth was punching. Then there was the fact he had a much better more lucrative career than she did .I'd never heard of her before she married him.I hear he has financial worries now with unpaid tax...maybe she doesn't want to stick with him when he's not just sick but poor? Now she has a better career than he does....she always struck me as quite self centred on Loose women .
Whatever the reason its sad to see breakups at their age

3nanny6 Sun 26-May-24 10:42:34

That is a shame to split up. Eamon has had many health problems for a long time and he is not on T.V. very much. i expect health problems and change of work times have put a strain on the marriage it happens to many.

henetha Sun 26-May-24 09:53:58

Most of her clothes on QVC are great, DanniRae. smile

Sparklefizz Sun 26-May-24 09:14:40

I wouldn't want him. I've never seen his appeal myself. He's always seemed nitpicking and grumpy to me.
