I wonder if this will move the polls. I can imagine many supporting this because of the so-called fiscal tax drag.

There is another thread already running on this subject.

Watching J Vine this am he estimated the state pension would exceed the PA by about £700. The tax on that would be £140 - £2.69 per week.

Ok, sorry. I didn’t see it. 🙂I did mention it earlier, but it was only set out in full earlier. No worries.

I think all very low income citizens should be protected tax wise.
Labour have to date committed the triple lock for 5 years ie the max length to the next general election. Realistically, thats as far as a "promise" can stand.

Pensioners managing on their state pension only even under triple lock will always fall under the tax threshold.

There are a number of additional benefits some pensioners can claim (including winter heating, pension credit, ) already - we need to hear about these too before "doing the sums"

Oh, I don’t read that thread, so that’s why I missed it.🙂

As it’s only going to be worth £14.60 per year, I can’t see it switching many votes.🙄

I'm on Pension Credit and I'm grateful for every penny I get. However, I'm very concerned about other things which are happening in our country. I won't be bribed into voting for a party which will continue the general decline in British society.

This pensioner won't be deducted by Tory promises - I remember Johnson and Truss.

And there's the gap between headlines and reality.
