Just that really.

I know😄. I meant the GN members.

DiamondLily Wed 29-May-24 13:07:15

She is being investigated by the NCA.

I have an idea.

Let’s investigate Michelle Mone with the same enthusiasm.

Bet she isn’t found “no case to answer” though!

I think that any politician, regardless of party, should be honest, and keep their tax affairs in order.

^eazybee’s contempt for any Labour politician.^

You need to get your facts right.
Not any Labour politician.
My contempt is reserved for Angela Rayner.

Please explain. Is it because you think she is uncouth?

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 29-May-24 11:24:15

£5m I think.

And which Tory Chancellor had to pay £20 million in tax due to an 'oversight'? The attack on Rayner is trivial by comparison and was obviously political on the part of a failing Tory party.

This!

Well it was very obvious that she was being used as a scapegoat
I hope she gets apologies and compensation for blackening her name
Disgusting behaviour

Absolutely!

Of course we have to talk about Foreign Affairs. Our trading and financial futures, our political relationships with other countries - we don't exist in a separate bubble away from the rest of the world!

😄tbh Verve were depressing.Funny that they chose their name.
I’ve never heard anyone use the word or seen it written down so good on the poster who used it and brought it to our attention.I’ll see if I can work it into a conversation sometime.
I agree with Callistemon21 that I wouldn’t think of AR as having verve as she seems deadpan most of the time.

Has she been cleared for selling her soul though😈 talking about Palastine and there was I thinking I lived in Britain and it's local/British issues that should be discussed and MPs elected on.

I don't follow this at all.

How has AR sold her soul (and to whom has she sold it?) and what has your living in Britain got to do with it?

Further, if foreign policy is what MPs should be elected on, why is there talk of increasing the defence budget and conscripting young people? And is there no link between wars abroad and the immigration that upsets so many?

Nicenanny3 Wed 29-May-24 08:48:21

She's just grovelling, no difference to her and George Galloway trying to woo the Musin vote making Gaza top priority. Actually I've travelled all over the world although I have never visited Israel though it was always on my bucket list.

I assume that you have no interest at all in anything that goes on beyond our little island then?

But it is just possible that other British voters might be interested to know the foreign policy stance of a prospective government.

Iam64 Wed 29-May-24 07:56:55

In what way has Angela Rayner sold her soul?

Palestine/Israel is something raised regularly in this general election campaign. That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone given the frequent pro Palestinian marches in UK and it hrt European / American cities.

HRMC haven’t confirmed, either way, whether there is any tax liability, and won’t do so.

Tax affairs are confidential, so we’ll never know, one way or another.

“HMRC was the only organisation to refuse to confirm or deny whether it was investigating Ms Rayner, saying it could not comment on individual cases because of taxpayer confidentiality law. It is understood that even if she went to HMRC and waived her right to anonymity, it would be unlikely to comment.”

I know a lot more than you might think about the HMRC inquiry branch, of which I think you were not a member. I will simply say that the amount in question is not the deciding factor in pursuing a prosecution. The person from whom I have my information was until recently a very senior official in the inquiry branch. If people’s tax affairs were confidential would we know so much about Zahawi’s settlement? The decision to prosecute is above your pay grade wwm, admit it.

Who knew property and conveyancing specialists knew so much about HMRC procedures? Every day a school day on GN

Well, of course they do.
There are several taxes involved in property purchase and sales.
🤔
Any solicitor worth their salt should know about tax laws too.
