I have 3 wonderful daughters who is my power of autarky

Primrose53 Fri 31-May-24 12:32:55

None of your daughters will be Power of Attorney unless you have legally appointed them. Have a chat to them about it. Plenty of info on Gov website.

I have 3 daughters who is my power of attorney

Bingbangboom Fri 31-May-24 12:40:47

I have appointed them and would like your opinion

MissAdventure Fri 31-May-24 12:44:33

If you've appointed them, then they are.

JaneJudge Fri 31-May-24 12:46:20

autarky is apparently a dog food

Grandmabatty Fri 31-May-24 12:47:09

I'm not sure what you are asking. If you have already appointed all three as Poa, then the deed is done. Did you ask them beforehand if they were happy to do it? Have you changed your mind and want only one poa?

MaizieD Fri 31-May-24 13:03:46

I thought autarky was what Johnson invoked when he predicted the UK would make a killing by trading when other countries were shut down by covid 😆

I'd suggest that the OP is on the wrong thread and she should raise her query on the legal & pensions forum...

A new poster.

When you die your power of attorney ceases to be valid.

RosiesMaw Fri 31-May-24 17:40:24

Power of Attorney?

Georgesgran Fri 31-May-24 17:44:59

For both ‘health’ and ‘wealth’?

petra Fri 31-May-24 17:46:30

We don’t know them, how can we have an opinion 🤷‍♀️

DiamondLily Fri 31-May-24 18:06:46

If you trust those you have appointed as POA’s, it doesn’t matter what strangers on the net think.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 31-May-24 18:07:00

Ridiculous.

Cossy Fri 31-May-24 18:21:18

FGS Where are these rather odd posters coming from?

M0nica Fri 31-May-24 18:34:35

Bingbangboom Age UK have a very useful factsheet on Powers of Attorney. You can find it if you click on this link

Bingbangboob - may we know where you live? Are you in the UK or some other country? Do you mean Power of Attorney?
What is Power of autarky mean?

ExDancer Sat 01-Jun-24 09:07:16

not 'is', 'does'

Witzend Sat 01-Jun-24 09:16:05

It can be stated on the forms that they can do it ‘jointly or severally’ - in other words, if e.g. 2 were away or otherwise not able to act, the 3rd could act or decide alone.

We have appointed 2 x dds to act ‘jointly or severally’.

I don't know what she means!
What is autarky FGS? is it something they have in other countries - but not in the UK?

BlueBelle Sat 01-Jun-24 09:55:02

Obviously a spelling mistake but is she asking a question or making a statement?

Sago Sat 01-Jun-24 11:13:44
