This is interesting..

That’s one sentence, which needs to be read in the context of the whole article from which it comes.

Golly, that's rather unpleasant Oreo.

I think of woke as luxury beliefs by middle class people. I find much of it deeply regressive, sexist and homophobic.

Oreo

I think unwoke in this case is not being an insufferable quasi- saint😇 sitting on a very high horse.

Quite right Oreo…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂

No, I meant biased. I thought they were proud of being "unwoke"

Personally, I am very proud of bring “unwoke”….😜

So, what do you mean by being "unwoke" ? I have little idea of what it means although I fully understand woke.

Shinamae Thu 13-Jun-24 11:25:15

Perhaps those who are so proud of being “unwoke” might just remember the true meaning stems from racial discrimination and a desire to promote social justice!

Remembering the true meaning, I’m extremely proud if people wish to consider me “woke”.

There’s little worse in this world than discrimination, whoever it’s directed at, women, gay people, people of colour, Jewish people, disabled people have all been subjected to appalling discrimination across centuries.

Well, I bow to your superior intellect and knowledge 🙄
There’s no way I am racist and I take offence that you are even suggesting that.

He’s not a presenter but a frequent guest and I really like Ben Habib. He is polite, very intelligent and thinks before he speaks.

I like Patrick Christys’ partner Emily too. Very well spoken and good at chairing a debate.

I thought GB news was proud of being biased.

Unbiased.

They always have a cross section of guests on any programme.
They are from all parties. They also have celebs, journalists, professors, trade unionists, self made millionaires ….. a real wide range of people with very differing opinions.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Shinamae Wed 12-Jun-24 18:55:54

And Polly Middlehurst is a great news presenter….😁

I don't agree that he has particularly good oratory skills, and even if he did, the amount of rubbish he speaks would detract from them! Dreadful man.

😂😂 👏👏👏👏👏

He really is an odious man! I simply cannot see how people are sucked in by this “man of the people” claptrap!

He’s never been “average, normal working man”. He attended Dulwich College, worked in the Commodities Market, his MEP track record of attending is abysmal, happy to mislead and persuade the UK to vote for Brexit whilst (smugly) claiming his big fat MEP pension and getting his kids dual nationality, and whilst I agree immigration needs controlling, both legally and illegally, his assertion that this should be “an immigration election” is bordering on xenophobia.

Those people who support him and also call Starmer “Mr Flip-Flip” may wish to look again at Farage’s political career, standing SEVEN times as a UK MP (& failing) for various Political Parties!

I’m still not sure if Reform is actually registered as a Political Party nor that they have a well written, fully costed referendum. Some of their candidates leave much to be desired and, despite their “supporters” assertions to the contrary, they are a far-right party.

Yet again you go Farage bashing, this thread is about GB news whether you like it or not doesn’t really bother me..🙄😁
Why don’t you just start your own thread? You can call it Come this way for bashing Farage”

Camilla T is great. She speaks crisply and is a very intelligent lady.

Of course there will always be those on here who dislike her because she works on GB News but she is head and shoulders above any other female presenters on other channels.

I wouldn’t judge her simply because of the programme she presents. I’m not a fan of The Daily Mail, but in the past, they’d had some brilliant investiture journalists who’ve uncovered and published/publicised some huge “wrongs”, particularly around closed family courts cases.

I’ve not watched Camilla, as I’m not a fan of GB News, but I will tune in and watch her so I can form a balanced judgement.
