Smear Keir - desperate Tory tactics!

They have tried eazybee, many times. However, it’s like comparing an amateur footballer to Ronaldo in terms of the harm done to the reputation of the party and the UK comparing Starmer to Johnson. One of the biggest problems for the Tory leadership at the moment is the very boringness of Starmer, people with clean reputations are hard to find these days. We don’t condemn every Tory MP who endorsed Johnson, or Truss for their misguided or foolish support, do we?

After years and years of personal attacks on Boris Johnson, (and there are still people whose only line of defence when cornered is, well, it's not as bad as Boris) I am amazed Tories haven't attacked, legitimately, Starmer's lies about his support for Jeremy Corbyn.

Lies, smears and name-calling have always been a part of election campaigns. Candidates behave like children in the playground. Best ignored. Decide which Party represents the values and policies that you adhere to, ignore the personal attacks and smears, and most importantly go out and vote.

I think it might have the opposite effect to that intended. It's true that Starmer keeps changing his stance on everything so called him 'Mr Flip-flop' is appropriate. However, personal attacks are juvenile and don't enhance the party doing the name-calling.

There is of course no need for Labour to smear the Tories as the horrors of the last 14 years of Tory government speak for themselves.

It doesn’t matter to me what they say about each. It won’t make me change my mind about any of them. This sort of thing has been happening during elections for donkeys years.

They are all as bad as each other in their desperate attempts to get power.

Remember the ‘evil eyes’ posters made to smear Blair? 😄 Didn’t work, he got into power easily.

The Tories did it in the last election, with Jeremy Corbyn. I don’t recall him trying to smear them, he was kept busy dodging bullets from all-comers. It’s much harder to smear Starmer I suspect, he isn’t a soft target.

It happens every GE time tho doesn’t it, one side issuing smears and threats about the other side, unless real substance or new info then nobody really gives a toss.

My postal vote arrived this morning. I filled in my vote and posted it back. Now I can forget all about it! Great!!

It won’t influence me one iota - I know exactly who I’m voting for. The Tories can smear away to their hearts’ content - just makes them look even more desperate!

It's free for all smear fest! No point in watching the News or reading the papers. It's just snipe snipe snipe at each other.

Smear campaigns at election time have been going on for as long as I have been voting.

This doesn't bother me - all the parties are smearing each other all the time. Look at the adverts being used. We had a post on Saturday with a link to voting tactically to keep the Tories out. Nobody felt aggrieved with that.
