Yes, both my Husband and I are voting tactically.

Check out your constituency on Electoral Calculus to see which party is best placed to breathe Conservatives.

Yes I’m voting tactically!

Dynawritecat Thu 27-Jun-24 12:34:13

We always have to where we live. Once when I told a neighbour I'd vote Labour if I didn't have to vote tactically she stared at me in shock.

I am NOT voting for our current MP who bet £8k that he wouldn’t get re-elected! Enough said!!!

Won’t you be helping him to win his bet?

I cannot see the point of tactical voting - that's election results decided by voting for whom you don't want in office!

I'm supporting the candidate I want to win (who also lives in the consistuency rather than 3 counties away but claims they have my counties interests at heart!)

lizzypopbottle Thu 27-Jun-24 12:31:18

Susieq62 you've got it backwards! Vote for him! Lose him his £8000 bet. Unless that's his secret plan... 🤔

I’m voting tactically. I am abhorred by the quality of the two main parties-neither has much idea of how to shake up the apathy that afflicts this country at present. Both have policies that are inimical to equality and fairness. The most I can hope for is that change happens when the electorate demands it enough. I fear that won’t come just because one party says they are going to make it happen. IMHO neither Sunak nor Starmer have the leadership qualities we so desperately need. Labour will undoubtedly win, and with the anticipated ‘supermajority’, where will that leave the future of democratic debate sparked by a decent Opposition? Heaven help us!

I am voting tactically, not for the first time. But this time I think there's a chance of getting our useless Tory MP out if we do this.

Jaye53 Thu 27-Jun-24 12:27:43

HAZEL.DONT DO IT

We are in a different area to normal, due to boundary change. No idea who is supposed to get in.

fancythat Thu 27-Jun-24 12:25:31

I wont know until at the booth, who I will vote for.
I have a good think in the car park, before I go in.

orly Thu 27-Jun-24 12:24:34

I've always voted Conservative but can't do this time
I've never voted Labour and still can't this time
So it's Reform in the hope that it keeps the other two out.
Last night's Leaders' debate showed that, as the questioner asked "Are you (two) really the best we've got to chose from?"

Tactical vote for the Lib Dems to keep the Tory out. No point in anything else where I live.

In France I am having to think really hard. The way the elections are held here is that there are two rounds. First round everyone votes with their heart. The second round consists of the two major groups. Both the far right and far right have unsavory people in the mixture The middle ground has two groups but which one will have enough votes so that the could be in the second round.

Off on holiday on Saturday, so I've already voted - for my very good constituency MP but not so good PM. I am not bothered that Labour will win the GE but I hope with not too huge a majority, time for a change.

I cannot see that there is no difference between Labour and the Tories. I am definitely voting Labour. Rachel Reeves is an economist and Starmer is a serious leader with new ideas. The Tories have been in government for far too long hence the development of easy lies and sleaze.

I think the current Labour team are great and really want rid of the tories but I'm in the cotswolds where Tories have a strong hold so I might vote Lib Dem to get tories out.

I think the Lib Dems have aligned their manifesto so it will work with Labour cos they're anticipating coming 2nd

We are an extremely strong Conservative constituency, as is the one right next to us and Essex wide currently. Our area has NEVER had anything other than Tory MPs. It’s time for Change methinks. I’ll happily be voting Labour, we have a good candidate, we also have a good Tory candidate and a good LibDem candidate too so 🙏🤞

For the first time since I gained the vote in 1964, this time my vote really will count.

I am in a newly formed constituency which Lib Dems are in the running to win. The next door constituency is Lib Dem, so this time. My vote will actually count!!!!!

Exciting, isn’t it? . I’ve lived in a couple of marginal/swing seats and in Scotland where there is PR, and it was great to feel my vote could make a tangible difference. .
