What is it that attracts racists, Islamaphobes, homophobes and general bigots to Nigel Farage?

I’ve pinched this question from James O’Brian. And to me it is obvious, - they are fascists - talking about replacing the police with paramilitaries and bringing back the death penalty as well as shoot f….g immigrants has huge echoes of 1930s Germany.

So why would you vote for him?

Ben Habib Co chairman of Reform Party. Born in Karachi to an English mother and Pakistani father, Mr Habib moved to England in 1979. He said if elected he would ‘dramatically slash’ ‘rampant’ immigration.

Ben Habib’s official announcement to be in the running for the newly-named Wellingborough and Rushden seat means he will be battling against Gen Kitchen (Lab), Christopher Townsend (Lib Dem), Paul Mannion (Green), and the as-yet-unannounced Conservative candidate.

I think Ben Habib is great! He is one of the best guests on GB News. Always polite, always bright and cheerful and super intelligent.

How have you come to the conclusion that I can’t see that Chestnut? Do you think we should have a far left wing party too for balance?

nightowl Fri 28-Jun-24 15:56:52

Well I can’t stand Nigel Farage but this is such a typical James O’Brien question - goady in the extreme. He doesn’t seek debate, only an echo chamber, and if anyone disagrees with him he just shouts them down and then cuts them off. So it’s not surprising the thread has gone the way it has, unfortunately.

Chestnut Fri 28-Jun-24 15:53:44

Casdon It is truly shocking that people are taken in by lots of things. I find it shocking that you can't see that these racist types are latching themselves onto Reform like limpets on the side of a ship because they have nowhere else to go. It doesn't mean the party supports their views. I repeat, I do not vote Reform but I believe we should have a right wing party for balance and the Tories are weak in that respect.

Nicenanny3 Fri 28-Jun-24 15:48:33

Smear campaign in full flow by the mainstream parties and their supporters it seems.

Casdon Fri 28-Jun-24 15:45:10

I do find it truly shocking that anybody is taken in by Farage, and I think it’s likely that some more truths will come out of the woodwork in the next few days about Reform.. If so many people are caught on camera or online saying something racist, misogynistic, or threatening, particularly when the evidence is such that they can’t deny that they did indeed say it, then it’s burying your head in the sand to say these people aren’t representative of the candidates of Reform. By voting for them you are tacitly accepting that fact.

Koalama Fri 28-Jun-24 15:28:16

Well said Judy bloom. I'm voting reform Reform and I do not fall into the that racist blah blah catagory, I suppose the lefties, all come under the money grabbing sit on your @ss all day on pip catagory then do they!! Each to there own

Maybe Nigel Fromage attracts racists, bigots etc., because they (the bigots and racists) see him as one of them. Moths drawn to a bright light.

They are drawn to Reform because they are homeless and this is the only mainstream right wing party they can latch onto.

This thread was getting hysterical with comments about Nazi Germany, and just because we need some control over immigration. The election environment is also getting like the wild west so just expect more wild accusations in the next few days.

Apologies if I’m wrong, WhiteWavemark2 but I don’t recall you asking what attracts anti- Semite's to the Labour Party. 🤔

😂😂😂

Am I wrong 🤷‍♀️. I don’t think so. 😉

Muslim entrepreneur has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to Reform UK, claiming the UK has "lost control of our borders”.

The precise amount Zia Yusuf has given to the party has not been disclosed but Reform UK claims it is the biggest donation of their general election campaign so far.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has faced criticism from Muslim organisations after he said a growing number of Muslims do not share British values.

When asked by the BBC about critics labelling some in Reform UK racist, Mr Yusuf said the party leadership "feel very strongly that we should protect British values and put British people of all religions and creeds first."

As well as being a donor, the BBC understands the 37-year-old will have a public role for Reform UK during the campaign.

In an interview with The Telegraph, which first reported the story of his donation,, external Mr Yusuf said: "I love Britain and I'm a patriot, a British Muslim patriot, which I believe the vast majority of Muslims in the UK are."

Mr Yusuf, who earned an estimated £31m from selling his luxury concierge app Velocity Black last year, told the BBC he believed "unsustainable" net migration levels were making it harder for legal migrants to integrate and overwhelming the NHS.

Many gay people view stonewall as homophobic at the moment.

Again sense.

Sorry to quote you so much, Galaxy but this is a goady thread which I shall desist from engaging in.
Thank you for bothering, and being a voice of reason.😄

It is a goady thread. You are correct.

Not really of a WW2 standard. Again in my opinion.

You are coming across as desperate in this thread WW2. I dont really know why.

I find it truly shocking that some people have it in for Nigel Farage. He speaks for the silent majority in this country. He is not racist in any shape or form. He is the only one to tell the truth of what is really going on - the poisoning of our way of life, the indoctrination of our children, all the woke idealogy, killing our democracy and decency and he is the only one who has the guts to challenge it and put the British people first, whatever their creed or colour. It is an absolute disgrace that the establishment disparage him. He is not far right. People need to be educated. Well done Nigel !

So why does he attract so many bigots, racists etc?

No one seems to answer that question.

Probably, as I have said before, because not even the Tories are right wing any more. In my opinion.

A Party from the Right no longer exists in the UK,

You (general you) have made the term far right meaningless, nobody even hears it anymore. WW has just included the death penalty as fascism, I am utterly opposed to the death penalty but is America now considered fascist?

This too

If you believe that you’d believe anything - and you apparently do😀.

Believe what? I never said I believe anything, just that we need to be careful what we believe.

Are you suggesting that the news item is false then or are you merely deflecting, only it does seem a strange thing to say, given that even the Prime Minister is willing to believe snd comment on what Farage’s supporter called him.

I was just reporting on what I read. Like most people I have no idea who to believe any more! Trust in politicians is at an all time low.

I would say the biggest sign of insecurity is insulting people who disagree with you.

^I’m surprised that Farage gets so much tv/media coverage.^

I'm not. He's the only politician making this election interesting to the media.

Tories are on their way out.

Labour is sitting back watching the tories dig holes for themselves.

A loud mouthed charlatan is much more interesting...

Very true

*WW2. I am referring to the Farage's male supporters, like the most recent oaf in the news. I would never describe a lady as an oaf. I always think Hyacinth Bucket would be a typical Reform supporter.Ladylike and yearning for a past that never existed.

I know monica but so did I and you can read the resultant comments😀😀😀.
