MissAdventure

I have carers in at 7am to help me get up, and I haven't been to bed yet! 😱

!!

Jess Phillips…

MayBee70 Fri 05-Jul-24 06:15:25

Poor Hess Phillips. She’s had an awful day. Thank goodness she held onto her set. The far left are as bad as the far right. She’s visibly shaken. They don’t deserve her.

Listening to the final chat on ITV, a surprising number[to me] think that now Farage is an MP, it will make a big difference.

fancythat Fri 05-Jul-24 06:03:42

8 former cabinet ministers lost their seats. Wow.

NannyJan53 Fri 05-Jul-24 06:02:25

Just woken up. My constituency has returned a Labour MP, after many many years of Tory smile

MissAdventure Fri 05-Jul-24 06:01:33

Great wailing and gnashing of teeth is my post election prediction.

MissAdventure Fri 05-Jul-24 05:55:25

Oh, I like Starmer's voice.

Casdon Fri 05-Jul-24 05:55:20

Johnny Mercer also just lost his seat.

nanna8 Fri 05-Jul-24 05:51:59

What a boring voice Starmer has. Hope his policies are better than his presentation. Budgerigar.

Casdon Fri 05-Jul-24 05:51:42

Douglas Ross has gone, and Liam Fox.

Scotland is seeing some political landscape changing results.

Ashcombe Fri 05-Jul-24 05:49:22

Impressed by the all nighters on here! We're just awake in France where I’m happy to discover that my local constituency (Torbay) is back to being represented by a Lib Dem MP, after defecting to Tory about 10 years ago. DH and I are amazed and delighted by the Labour result.

Galaxy Fri 05-Jul-24 05:47:20

There is a sort of truth in that though I think. The Tories would have still lost but would have performed better under Johnson than Sunak.

MissAdventure Fri 05-Jul-24 05:45:30

Just found my constituency again, and the conservative MP stands, but she is pretty good, so it's a fair result.

I think reform were second, though.

Not so good.

Ailidh Fri 05-Jul-24 05:39:04

Just got up to the news. In general terms, Huzzah!

MissAdventure Fri 05-Jul-24 05:34:13

Yes, even so...

fancythat Fri 05-Jul-24 05:32:02

I ought to correct that slightly.
It was one of the reasons he gave, now I have looked more.

But. Even so..

Jacob Rees Mogg says getting rid of Boris is the reason for tories demise.

He still doesnt get it.

He's unbelievable, that man!

Morning all…as expected our local Labour candidate has gained our seat with a healthy majority with the previous Tory mp being pipped into 3rd place by Plaid Cymru!

I said previously I’ve never won on election night and sure enough it’s happened again (did win at bingo though 😂) but I’m pleased that Plaid have gained another 2 seats, now 4 in total!

Plaid have played a blinder, haven’t they, I bet there are lots of champagne glasses clinking!

Casdon Fri 05-Jul-24 05:19:30

Wow, my constituency (Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe) has just gone Lib Dem, it was the most likely Tory seat in Wales so it’s likely there will be a Tory wipeout here.

Mouse Fri 05-Jul-24 05:12:38

It was a good speech, wasn’t it? That was worth staying up for.

MissAdventure Fri 05-Jul-24 05:08:39

Great speech from Keir.
He has come info his own, now.
