So what stopped him Siope?

The right wing of how own party, and not having enough political capital (in part because members were excluded from his selection) to manage a divided party.

A good, decent man who clearly loves his country and has done some good things with regards to the economy. Unfortunately, he was handed a poisoned chalice and is not a strong leader. I wish him well for the future, whatever he decides to do.

It's a shame the party wouldn't allow him too.

It’s a shame he didn’t govern using the principles he espoused in that speech.

I am very surprised that this is the first speech Sunak delivered which has a good and direct connection with his audience.

Better late than never? Or why did it not happen before the wipeout?

If the Conservatives were sensible they'd never have elected Liz Truss.

He probably wants to go, but he probably needs to stay for a while at least.
I don’t think he’ll fight the next election, I think he’ll have resigned as an MP long before that.

He has already said he is going, as soon as they can find a reasonable replacement! Decent man, but not a leader, out of his depth.

He has a welcome decency and a good speech tho I disagree with his policies of course.

If Conservatives are sensible they will keep him as they are in disarray. Does he want to stay, tho?

I was very impressed by it. He is a decent bloke.
