Good.
The man had some brass neck didn’t he?

Anniebach Wed 24-Jul-24 16:11:06

Your cousin should stick to facts

Urmstongran Wed 24-Jul-24 16:03:34

Fair comment Casdon. I’m repeating what my cousin said who lives in Wales. I will be more mindful. Thank you.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jul-24 15:36:51

Last time Eluned stood ?

Casdon Wed 24-Jul-24 15:26:16

Yes, I’d be careful what you accuse people of Urmstongran. The evidence does point to Hannah Blythyn being the source of the leak.

He did accept campaign funding from an inappropriate source, that is the reason he lost his role.

The other accusations are as far as I’m aware unproven, under investigation.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jul-24 15:15:55

How do you know Hannah Blythyn told the truth ? May I ask
do you live in North, Mid,South Wales?

Urmstongran Wed 24-Jul-24 14:58:46

Bye bye Gething, don’t bang the door on the way out.

He accepted £200k from a crook (who had himself received a £400k loan from the Welsh government,) Gething directly involved purchasing a farm, £4million, for a friend who didn’t have the capital to purchase for running a festival, paying over valuation, no business plan, no planning permission, no consultation with anyone in the community or their political representatives.

He then destroyed evidence required by the UK covid review, sacked a minister without following any process because she told the truth. This labour guy is unfit to hold any public office.

What position will Jeremy Miles be given

LadyGracie Wed 24-Jul-24 14:12:29

There we are then. She's done incredible damage to the Welsh NHS and has been convicted 4 times for speeding and Eluned Morgan is our new unelected First Minister. It doesn't bode well!

Casdon Mon 22-Jul-24 15:38:23

It seems so - unless somebody else pops up quickly, which I doubt.

Anniebach Mon 22-Jul-24 15:32:49

So it was true

Casdon Mon 22-Jul-24 15:30:22

From BBC News.
‘Eluned Morgan has confirmed her intention to stand in the contest to replace Vaughan Gething as Wales' first minister.
The health secretary said she was standing on a "joint unity ticket" with Huw Irranca-Davies, who would serve as her deputy first minister.
A contest is looking increasingly unlikely, with no one else having announced their intention to stand.
If that is still the case by the deadline of 12:00 BST on Wednesday, Ms Morgan will become the next Welsh Labour leader.’
I’d have preferred Huw Irranca Davies as leader personally.

Anniebach Mon 22-Jul-24 08:31:45

There are mentions of of Huw Irranca Davies standing nothing more than chat

LadyGracie Mon 22-Jul-24 08:06:47

There must be someone better. Mustn't there?

Anniebach Sun 21-Jul-24 23:25:15

Seems she is giving it serious thought.

LadyGracie Sun 21-Jul-24 23:13:20

I'm surprised she's standing.

Casdon Sun 21-Jul-24 18:08:36

I did too Anniebach, she ruled herself out last time. She must have changed her mind.

Anniebach Sun 21-Jul-24 17:57:43

I thought Eluned wasn’t interested in standing

Casdon Sun 21-Jul-24 16:35:07

I’ve just seen that Jeremy Miles has ruled himself out of the leadership race, which I’m disappointed about. He is backing Eluned Morgan.

Jeremy Miles was the first to speak of racial prejudice

Amalegra Sat 20-Jul-24 13:56:32

Racial prejudice is used as a trump card at every opportunity these sorry days. I didn’t hear it mentioned when MPs were elected to Westminster recently on a Gaza ticket. Or outrage at the intimidation of white candidates running against them. Funny how it only seems to work one way!

Casdon Sat 20-Jul-24 13:43:48

That must be why the Tories were completely wiped out in Wales in the general election and Labour gained 10 more seats Spec1talk?

I’ve never been a Gething fan, but nor have I ever heard anybody who lives here say that they regret devolution. The Welsh Government definitely needs a refresh, but I think that will come now there will be more involvement and interest from Westminster.

Spec1alk Sat 20-Jul-24 11:35:32

I’m a Welsh gran. The first minister has made many mistakes since he was elected. The whole Labour Party in Wales is unpopular and in disarray. Some people in Wales are suggesting that the devolution experiment had failed and Wales should have a general election to sort it out.

LadyGracie Wed 17-Jul-24 22:42:23

Agreed Maddy

JamesandJon33 Wed 17-Jul-24 18:38:39

ExactlyMaddy Well said.

Pantglas2 Wed 17-Jul-24 15:03:30

I also agree Maddy.

I did think when I first read Miles letter that he might have been pre-empting any use of a ‘race card’ being played by pointing out the common bond they had as minorities.
