The thing is, the German people were demoralised after WWI and were looking for a leader to make them feel great again. So I can understand why they turned to Hitler. But America has always been a great nation. I’m not aware of them being in a Great Depression over the past few years. So why are many Americans desperate for someone to make America great again? Surely, by saying he’s going to make the country great again he’s saying that it isn’t ?

Surely, by now you must have noticed that both Biden and Trump, like a lot of Americans, are not at all hesitant about mentioning God, prayers, etc.?

Whether this is because the genuinely believe in God, or is solely because it is still the done thing in certain circles in America to let everyone know you believe in God, I have no idea.

Trump presumably belongs to the school who think God is an American, and as Trump has never evinced the slightest display of empathy for anyone, it can hardly come as a surprise that he has neither condoled with the bereaved, or even mentioned the fact that although he was only superficially hurt, others were seriously injured or killed.

And are you all certain that the 20 year old shot for being the shooter really was the person who took that shot?

If the shot was fired from where the FBI claim the shooter must have been a very good marksman indeed, which no-one has yet said he was.

And I’m saying that as someone that has the utmost respect for him.Everyone ages during their term of office, whether it’s an American president or a UK PM ( that is until the Conservatives started keeping them in power for short periods of time) but I’ve never known anyone age as much as he has. I desperately want someone to defeat Trump but Biden isn’t that person I’m afraid.

I agree that Biden has no official diagnosis, as far as we know, of dementia, but it has to be acknowledged that he is increasingly looking frail, and unlikely to hold on until November, let alone until January 2029..

I listened to part of Trump’s speech on Ch4 News. He was talking complete gibberish. And his fans were lapping it up. I’ve spoken to Americans living here that won’t even go back to America to visit family and that’s because of the divisiveness he’s causing already. I’ve spoken to people from when he was president before that have said support for him has split families.

Trump, a proven liar, self confessed sexual predator, crooked businessman and he caused the insurrection when he refused to accept he lost the election.
He tells his adoring supporters God saved his life. They nod, sway and cheer this nonsense.
