You are very quick to look for offence where none is intended. You are allowed to support whatever political party you wish, but this is a discussion forum, so the rest of us are allowed to give our opinions too.

Surely, by now you must have noticed that both Biden and Trump, like a lot of Americans, are not at all hesitant about mentioning God, prayers, etc.?

Whether this is because the genuinely believe in God, or is solely because it is still the done thing in certain circles in America to let everyone know you believe in God, I have no idea.

Trump presumably belongs to the school who think God is an American, and as Trump has never evinced the slightest display of empathy for anyone, it can hardly come as a surprise that he has neither condoled with the bereaved, or even mentioned the fact that although he was only superficially hurt, others were seriously injured or killed.

And are you all certain that the 20 year old shot for being the shooter really was the person who took that shot?

If the shot was fired from where the FBI claim the shooter must have been a very good marksman indeed, which no-one has yet said he was.

Babamaman - you are correct. Melania has not attended nor participated at events until last night when she attended the RNC. I don’t blame her as the main stream media has treated her so hatefully. Perhaps she’s still recovering from the loss of her mother who passed in January, and not yet ready to face all that hate again?

Probably just a polite enquiry to put your comments into context. Relax

I do not like Trump, BUT, his policies are what we need right now. Unfortunately, under the Biden administration for the last four years, people are struggling financially. Homelessness is at an all time high. The flow of illegal immigrants coming into the country absolutely needs to be stemmed. There is no perfect plac to live, we all know that. All our family still live in the UK and we visit at least once a year. When I sometimes mention the idea of returning to the UK to live, they all, without exception, say it would be madness on our part to return. So many of them have visited us here, and they know what our life is like here. I have to say that there is no comparison, and believe me, I am English through and through.

Well, we are interested in trying to understand why he is so popular. And we can only find that out by talking to American citizens. Eg have people been a lot worse off financially over the past few years? Are American women happy about the change to abortion laws? Is immigration really a problem? What is the difference in health care under Republican or Democrat governments? How do people pay for health care??

I’ve noticed that Melanie hasn’t been on the scene for a long time! Can’t see the love at all.
Whatever happens he has won the election -sadly ‘his God’ won’t save the rest of us from his madness -

I see Trump's acceptance speech , which rambled on and on veered back to the same topics as before in spite of the fact that there was going to be a new Trump.Let's hope that his supporters were so bored that he put them off, although those with the silly mock dressings probably couldn't hear a word.

They said that he’d completely re written it after his near death experience so dread to think what it was like before. I can’t face listening to it. I honestly can’t believe people are sticking plasters and stuff on their ears . A dystopian future that is happening here and now.

I think Trump is a total egotist who does'nt care for anyone but himself. He couldn't quote one sentence of the Bible and is only after votes. He creeps me out and I am very concerned for the USA and the rest of us, if he wins back the Presidency.

I've read about the ffighter who sadly died, and his wife gave a brief interview.
But it seems awfully quite with regards to this event.
Perhaps I'm just not paying enough attention.

I think Bob Dylan changed his view about God as he got older . He was very young when he wrote that.

Reminds me of a great song by Bob Dylan, ‘With God on our side’ which contains the memorable line ‘And even the Germans Had God on their side’. I personally don’t think that God takes ‘sides’ in the doings of man; He gave us free will to choose our own paths. I do believe in the power of prayer though and much is needed for our suffering world today.

Some social media posts have suggested that the "assassination" is a put up job as no-one has seen the wound uncovered and that when the ear is grazed it bleeds profusely, not like those 2 thin streams if red liquid that we saw. It has also been reported that the shooter's gun club say he was an awful shot so thay may be why an innocent bystander a few away git shot.
