We can’t point the finger at China, Beijing airport is closed 😁

Quite frightening when you think how much so many of us live our lives on our screens.

So do we know with certainty that it's a Microsoft issue then?

The Microsoft problem is affecting just about anything you can think of. They say on the BBC it is not thought to be malicious, but who really knows?

Cancer patients are being sent home because they can’t access treatment. Horrible. Airlines are being grounded and our major retailers are having to send people away. No online orders.

Serious stuff

I didn't know that.

Land - lots of land registry[or is it all] is in digital form.
What can you prove?

fancythat Fri 19-Jul-24 08:08:19

And things like finance.
All very well the government saying we will pay you up to £85,000. But what if you cant prove that?

I have known for years how much we depend on it.
Myself and friends print things out that we want to keep.

I always see books in country homes, still preserved from the 1700's or something.

Unable to access repeat prescription section of NHS app

Just now there is a world wide dropout of many services like banks, airport (delays), hospital services( all of them in Melbourne), police, supermarkets, many internet services. Shows how much we depend on Microsoft, quite alarming. Obviously patchy because our internet is working but the hospitals are in chaos.
