For George's 11th birthday photo.

I see several family members in him.

Yes it’s a beautiful image🥰

Mmm, as he grows older, losing his ‘little boy’ looks, I can see him resembling the late Queen’s father and possibly some of his siblings.

Of course, we all see different characteristics in people.

One thing, all the Royal children look to have excellent teeth. No doubt any corrective work is spotted and dealt with very promptly.

He looks nice and relaxed here 😊
Do you know who took the photo Joseann?

NfkDumpling Mon 22-Jul-24 10:13:14

I just read a FB post saying how "cute" he looked. How he must hate that!!

Very handsome young man!

Very much like his Dad. And black and white is, IMHO, classier than colour.

I’ve never seen the late Queen’s father in Prince George before but I do now.

He is just himself. A good looking boy.

A wonderful image of a young man and future King.

He is just himself

Of course, but we all have our family genes, which become more pronounced as we grow up, I think.

foxie48 Mon 22-Jul-24 11:30:21

I love the fact that Kate takes the family photos, it means they are less stilted than those taken by a pro photographer.

Urmstongran Mon 22-Jul-24 12:20:56

Like you Joseann I too saw similarities with other family members. His great uncle, Charles Spencer came to mind at first glance.

V3ra Mon 22-Jul-24 12:26:06

Thank you OldFrill.
I thought it would be. George is looking very comfortable in recent photos, I especially liked the ones Catherine took of William and the children leaping from a sand dune for William's birthday recently.
They come across as a solid family group.

Lovely photo, handsome boy.

why not put his name in title then you would not get duplicate threads.

lovely photo.

Joseann Mon 22-Jul-24 13:14:45

I guess because at the time I was more fixed on the b & w composition of the photo, as being different from the usual colour images.

As mae13 says, maybe b & w is deliberately a more grown-up choice, as George leaves boyhood behind.

Yes, I really hate ‘cute’ for anything but babies, very small children, baby animals, etc.
Especially when applied to adult males!

eazybee Mon 22-Jul-24 13:55:11

Because the royal family are so well-documented by generations of photographs it is easy to trace family likenesses from centuries ago. I think Price William looks like a young George 111, and Princess Anne resembles Princess Mary, Princess Royal, and occasionally has a look of Queen Victoria.

Poor George must cringe if he sees himself described as "cute", another pet hate of mine is "sweet". You see so many headlines about the Royals exchanging sweet greetings or giving each other sweet gifts. They adults for Heaven's sake, they might be pleasant, or even loving - but sweet???
