Trans athletes should be allowed to take part in women's sports, Labour's new Culture Secretary has said. Lisa Nandy said it should be up to individual sports to decide whether to let biological males compete against women in their respective fields, arguing “most” sports had got the balance right.
Presumably what she means by got the balance right is that if males want to compete in female competitions they should be allowed to do so.

Most men disagree with transwomen in sport business. It's reassuring to hear so many of them are with us. Of course they're not typically prominent 'celebs' just decent honest men. We mustn't forget them.

I have absolutely no problem with trans people who want to ID as another gender but it's getting ridiculous!

To me, it's another way men have found to control women, what sports we do, what we wear etc.

As mentioned up thread, this only goes one way, was it ever thus. In other areas too, transmen they are pretty much under the radar most of the time I really don't see or hear of them imposing themselves in the same way. There is a word that springs to mind in relation to much of this new phenomenon and the pernicious erosion of women's rights and that would be "entitlement" or to be more specific "male entitlement". Whilst not wishing to birsmich men per se, the male desire to trounce women and to remain dominant has stalked and subjugated women since the beginning of time. Why are we putting up with this retrograde dominance? Just same meat different gravy under another guise.

Have you seen the rules for comment on the Olympics? Not allowed to say that an athlete is transgender or post surgically transgender. We all have to collude with the delusion that feeling like a woman makes you genuinely female.
Walk away from these competitions ladies. Shouldn't take too long before the message sinks in. Dreadful that has to be done though.

It's outrageous. If all women athletes refused to compete with trans women it wont be long before the organisers and those in authority are forced to bring this to an end.

Absolutely bloody disgraceful. I thought non biological women had been banned by the cycling authorities,in competing against women. Utterly disgraceful.

These men cannot hack it in the world of male sport, think it’s ok to identify as women and invade our world and win.

If people don’t take a stand it will continue, you have to ask yourself why its been allowed all this woke nonsense. Those transgender people don't care they have all the advantages, look at them. It would be laughable if it was not so unfair, let all the athletes turn up for events and those not transgender turn and walk off., Leave it to the Transgender to compete against each other. I won’t watch any of it.

What do the transwomen think is the reason that boxing contestants are defined as flyweights, bantamweights, heavyweights etc and compete in their own category, on a level playing field, against their peers ?

I saw the article in the daily Mail. The photograph showing the competitors shows the winner head and shoulders , stronger muscle tone and male genitals clear visible through their cycling shorts. Clearly went through puberty as male so shouldn’t be competing as female. How these individuals persuade themselves it’s a fair competition they won defies me.

I agree with Bluebell, 3 defined biological people, should equate to 3 categories. Otherwise it all comes across as cynical knowing ploys to erase women out, they, the trans know they can trounce women every time. What's the point therefore of devoting hours of time and effort into a pursuit they, the actual women don't have a hope in hell of competing in, in any meaningful way against male bodied people. It's rubbish! Anyone with a sense of fairness knows it's cynical manipulation and so unfair.

Nothing about this woke nonsense is right. We’ve become censored if we speak up too. Why should women athletes be ‘censored’ by their governing bodies if they take action? All this coercion is just so wrong on so many levels. Yet we meekly accept it all as the norm. We are stupid. If the athletes can’t protest then the paying public should vote with their feet and not attend. Money (or lack of it) would focus minds.

Look at the outcry when that American lager Budweiser found their profits tanked when the customers boycotted it after that transwoman fronted their advertising campaign.

Hit these body politic in their pockets. They’ll change tune if the receipts drop.

With Lisa Nandy having been appointed Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport I'm concerned. Remember this is the woman who on being asked if crimes committed by men who self ID as women should be recorded as women's crimes said they should be recorded however the criminal wanted. She also thought transwomen are women so rapists who self ID as women should serve their sentence in the female estate if that's their wish. She may now make flutterings to acknowledge sex differences, but falls well short of recognising the biological reality that nobody can change sex and the only requirement or qualification to be a woman is to be born female and survive to adulthood.

Do the people, and especially those in positions of power, not realise that by going only with this type of thing, they put themselves in positions of ridicule?

My best guess is that they are trying to appease some people higher up in society than themselves.

Or have they really gone so far in a direction that they are now, themselves, blinded?

Makes my blood boil, its discriminatory to biological females and should be stopped, I agree , walk away amass female competitors from these shameful men identifying as women contests.

This is awful and needs a complete rebellion let the trans run their own races if they need three categories then we need three categories mens races women’s races and trans races
