Must admit when I read about this earlier it made my blood boil. It's just so wrong

People compete with their sexed body, not some internal sense of self. Transgender people are not being denied sporting competition, they should just race in their correct sex category. These transwomen never seem to question why they alone enjoy sporting success and podium places while their transmen equivalents don't. Of course they, like any person with more than one brain cell, know the answer. How long before teams of transwomen are taking all the prizes? It's all very well saying elite sport (in certain areas) is gradually coming to its senses and enforcing sex categories but where do they think elite athletes start? It's at the lower levels, but girls will be put off completely if they know no amount of effort and training will count against biological males who identify into the female classification.

This is as unfair a competition as anyone could imagine. Is this going to see the end of women’s competitive cycling over time?

It may well see the end of all competitions with female categories. Males now win things like women’s poetry and music competitions too. I know you don’t need strength to write or sing; but the whole point of having separate categories was that the male ‘viewpoint’ was seen as the default and women were overlooked. Now we have our own categories things have gone back to square one if males can enter them too.

With Lisa Nandy having been appointed Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport I'm concerned. Remember this is the woman who on being asked if crimes committed by men who self ID as women should be recorded as women's crimes said they should be recorded however the criminal wanted. She also thought transwomen are women so rapists who self ID as women should serve their sentence in the female estate if that's their wish. She may now make flutterings to acknowledge sex differences, but falls well short of recognising the biological reality that nobody can change sex and the only requirement or qualification to be a woman is to be born female and survive to adulthood.

I firmly believe that sportswomen (actual women) need to stand together to stop this nonsense. Turn up for the event and do a wholesale walk out, leaving only the transwomen standing there. There would usually only be 1 or 2 competitors left and it would make a complete mockery of the event. I realise it would be hard, but it would quickly bring results. C'mon girls, just walk away!

Sounds fine Chestnut until you hear the women would be censored and punished for this action, by the sporting authorities or sponsors. In some sports there is wholesale capture of the gender identity cult, and as men are at the head of most sporting associations who couldn't care less about female participation, and it's men who benefit from this ideology, they're on a hiding to nothing.
I think it was you who was recommending the Daley Thompson documentary? I fully intend to watch it on Iplayer as he is someone I greatly admire. Always loved him as a sportsman, but my admiration knows no bounds as he is one of the very few sportsmen prepared to put their heads above the parapet and support women ( female sex) only categories. Gary Lineker who has much to say about absolutely everything on X is strangely reticent on this topic, but not because he's a craven coward 🙄 (and yes I do know craven has roughly the same meaning as coward 🤣)

How the trans women can accept first prize astounds me. They have to know they have a significant advantage. Bring back a level playing field!

It’s ridiculous. Oppression of women and it is just meekly accepted. Why don’t they have special trans events, that would be fair?

This is awful and needs a complete rebellion let the trans run their own races if they need three categories then we need three categories mens races women’s races and trans races

Do the people, and especially those in positions of power, not realise that by going only with this type of thing, they put themselves in positions of ridicule?

My best guess is that they are trying to appease some people higher up in society than themselves.

Nothing about this woke nonsense is right. We’ve become censored if we speak up too. Why should women athletes be ‘censored’ by their governing bodies if they take action? All this coercion is just so wrong on so many levels. Yet we meekly accept it all as the norm. We are stupid. If the athletes can’t protest then the paying public should vote with their feet and not attend. Money (or lack of it) would focus minds.

Look at the outcry when that American lager Budweiser found their profits tanked when the customers boycotted it after that transwoman fronted their advertising campaign.

Hit these body politic in their pockets. They’ll change tune if the receipts drop.

I agree with Bluebell, 3 defined biological people, should equate to 3 categories. Otherwise it all comes across as cynical knowing ploys to erase women out, they, the trans know they can trounce women every time. What's the point therefore of devoting hours of time and effort into a pursuit they, the actual women don't have a hope in hell of competing in, in any meaningful way against male bodied people. It's rubbish! Anyone with a sense of fairness knows it's cynical manipulation and so unfair.

I saw the article in the daily Mail. The photograph showing the competitors shows the winner head and shoulders , stronger muscle tone and male genitals clear visible through their cycling shorts. Clearly went through puberty as male so shouldn’t be competing as female. How these individuals persuade themselves it’s a fair competition they won defies me.

If people don’t take a stand it will continue, you have to ask yourself why its been allowed all this woke nonsense. Those transgender people don't care they have all the advantages, look at them. It would be laughable if it was not so unfair, let all the athletes turn up for events and those not transgender turn and walk off., Leave it to the Transgender to compete against each other. I won’t watch any of it.

Absolutely bloody disgraceful. I thought non biological women had been banned by the cycling authorities,in competing against women. Utterly disgraceful.

It's outrageous. If all women athletes refused to compete with trans women it wont be long before the organisers and those in authority are forced to bring this to an end.
