Nigel Farage‘s son debanked
(160 Posts)Apparently, for being Nigel Farage’s son!!

Frinton not Fronton 😂
Fronton is quite a nice wine - just north of Toulouse

Back to Farage's son who has been 'debanked' if he truly has. He has got German nationality, and possibly Irish. Key issue is, where does he live? Can anyone find out? And who does he bank with?
I know one of his sons did a first and second degree at Exeter Uni. Try Hong Kong for where he lives.

I'm guessing a red from down there? 🍷

If British people can’t have a British bank account because they live abroad, then they need to do what my daughter did when she moved to New Zealand - open a bank account in the country they live in.
Easier said than done. If you work there, that is fine. But in many cases, those people are on UK pensions which have to be paid into UK Bank Account before transfer, and losing UK Bank account becomes a real nightmare.
Brits in EU risk losing UK bank accounts
Brits in EU risk losing UK bank accounts. Tens of thousands of British expats who live in Europe run the risk of having their UK bank accounts closed 'in weeks' due to post-Brexit rules.
Lloyds, Barclays and Coutts are among the UK banks starting to give notice to expats to warn their accounts will be closed at 11pm on December 31.
The government has not yet negotiated post-Brexit banking rules so the current regulations will not apply. Stalemate between Britain and Europe in ongoing talks over Brexit has left it a "bureaucratic nightmare" for UK banks to provide services to Brits living abroad.
Banks are making their own decisions as to which EU countries to pull out of and which to continue operating in.
Lloyds, Barclays and Coutts are among the UK banks starting to give notice to expats to warn their accounts will be closed at 11pm on December 31.^
Don't Barclays and Lloyd's advertise themselves as a global banks operating in many countries? That seems to be a nonsense if people have to close their accounts in the UK.
Very unhelpful.
I don't know about Coutts.

In my youth Frinton was famous for not allowing any fish and chip shops 😀
Frinton Cricket Club, too, eh? How very 'man of the people'...
(further apologies)
I expect a pint of ale is cheaper than in the pubs.

You are a woman after my own heart
I too don’t agree with any MP being allowed to purchase a second home in their constituency, or in London, at the taxpayers expense. When they lose their seat, they can keep the property too.
I agree with you, and have long thought, that the system you suggest, of having flats available for MPs to stay in, would be a much better idea, and ultimately save a lot of money. With so many new MPs in our new Parliament, just think how much all those second homes are going to cost us!
I believe the system of flats that you suggest, is exactly what is done in Denmark.

Could I possibly care less about someone with German nationality (and/or Irish- both EU countries) resident in Hong Kong who has possibly been debanked by a bank (Wise) nobody has heard of - a specialist bank for making international money transfers.
What possible relevance does it have to any of us?
Nothing Rosie is the answer to your question.

Because Farage was instrumental in stopping most of us from free travel in Europe but his own kids, which have either a German or Irish mother still can.

Have you looked at the OP😄😄😄
Nope, still find it all totally irrelevant and uninteresting.
Love him or hate him seems people can't stop talking about him 😄
As the song goes 'I like him how about you'

I didn't even know Farage had children until this thread.
And I keep reading debanked as debunked.
Me too! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So disinterested that you have posted how many times…………
Did anyone hear the joke: Harwich for the continent, Frinton for the incontinent?

Is it because it's just rather ludicrous and unimportant?
Or because I keep wondering how one of the Farage family has been debunked.
Must go to Specsavers.

😮
Never heard that.
Where is Frinton anyway? Is it one of those places that everyone's heard of but don't know why?
Like Tunbridge Wells where Disgusted lives.

Perhaps. Let’s wait and see.

I’ve been racking my brains Nicenanny3, but I can’t place that line at all, what song is it from? Can somebody enlighten me please or it will bug me all day.

It's on the Essex coast, very genteel and lots of elderly. My mum sent me there on a religious holiday there once. I told her I'd been to God's waiting room! I preferred Walton on the Naze, it had a fair.
