Much of my post is highly relevant to Southport, the massacre here up in Manchester. I read through it carefully before I posted to fact check and to ensure nothing was in it that could be deemed inflammatory as, I’m sure there will be readers of this thread who will report if they see fit. My comments are measured and valid.

No, it is not relevant. Muslims are about as relevant to what happened in Southport as Yetis are.

The riots were dreadful caused by the far right mob who can't wait to have a go at the police.There was an appeal last night by the family of one of the victims to stop the violence. These grieving people should not have to go through this as well .
I know our thoughts and prayers are with them and their community.

There's a frightening trend of misogynistic incel activity apparently online.Think Andrew Tate and his kind.For all these thugs know the perpetrator of these awful crimes could be one of these .We may never know his sick motivation.
The mob last night are too thick and violent themselves and sickening this attack on little girls just feeds their own thuggish tendencies.Many of them are very visible and identifiable. Feeling the way I do this morning with a family member injured in this -thankfully not as serious as some of the officers -I wish if they are on my kind of benefits they could immediately be withheld.Causing more fear, mayhem and damage. They obviously able to drop everything at a moments notice to go to Southport and protest.

Reading all this thread just now has been very reassuring. So many sensible, grounded comments and support for the police and emergency services

The EDL are thugs. A poster early on this thread described them as thick as mince. They shout things like English till I die as they hurl wheelie bins, tear down garden walls so they can throw bricks at police officers and dogs. Disgusting people - I wonder about their IQ level

They should all receive long hard sentences, but will serve a fraction of that, once found guilty- my brother was a firefighter & my fella in the police

EDL is the English Defence League. Thugs led by rabble rousers like Tommy Robinson. Very similar in attitude to the football supporters gangs which got so much publicity for their violence and mindless destructive tendencies in the 1980s.

They think they are great patriots defending the English way of life.
