I wouldn’t want her as a PM but she would be a good opposition MP because she talks well, whether or not you agree with her view. A bit like Nige really.

I know several people who voted reform out of frustration with the other parties, they are not and never have been hideous people

If you live in an area with a high crime rate I suppose they offer some sort of answer, right or not. I really sympathise with people who are afraid to live amongst violence and crime.

Ms Oakeshott, has achieved many things in her life, one in particular was persuading Vicky Pryce to implicate her husband the Lib Dem MP and Cabinet Minister Chris Huhne in having committed the offence of perverting the course of justice. Leading to the case of Pryce v Huhne. Both were convicted and imprisoned.

She has been Political Editor of The Sunday Times, Daily Mails Editor-at-large.

Amongst other things the New Statesmen named her as the 32nd most influential right-wing political figure in the U.K.

Just because a persons political affiliation is different does not make them vile or bad.

She is pretty awful though.

She's often on GB News. She toned her speech since the start of the election campaign I think.

Nigel Farage used to drink in one of our friends pubs, people who had no idea who he was thought he was a top bloke

He was definitely convivial, extremely intelligent and articulate. I disagree with his politics but honestly couldn’t say that in person he was vile, awful or bad

I am just so over all of the mud slinging and abusing of anyone who isn’t in the same political bubble as our own.

I have friends of all political perspectives, they are not vile individuals because they do not vote the same as I do.

Partisan bias is the root of many problems here in UK and around the world, look at the USA.

I wouldn’t compare Nigel Farage to those three for a start.

Hitler and Mussolini were of a totally different time, not really comparable to today’s world.

Putin, well I wouldn’t compare anyone to him other than Kim Jong-un, they both rule by fear and relying on the masses not to be aware of the world outside of their own.

I am just tired of all the nonsense that if someone isn’t in my gang they must be bad. It’s not good for the country or the world in general.

One of my lodgings in Oxford was at the house of a famous psychology professor and his wife. When there was an election, one of them put up Conservative posters and the other put up Lib Dem posters. They stayed married and were very civilised.

Perhaps I am not explaining myself well today.

Just because a persons political affiliation is different does not make them vile or bad.

This is very true. I've known people whose political views were diametrically opposite to mine, but they were lovely people and we simply agreed to disagree. Having met and, as I said, worked beside IO, albeit for a short time, I judge her on how she treated those around her - and it wasn't nice.

I don't know this lady, but I have found, generally, that when people say "He/she talks a lot of sense" what they mean is "says things with which I agree" .
There is nothing wrong in this, but it doesn't make one set of utterances more "sense" than any other.

I would say that the worst misogyny feminists have endured in the last few years has been from the left. It has been breathtaking. I know people keep talking about Andrew Tate (who I loathe) but honestly ask any of the feminists who have spoken out on single sex spaces, prostitution, surrogacy and you will find story after story of misogyny from the left.

I am joking. DH was a lib dem councillor for a while, he eventually saw the light but we managed to co exist.
