She talks such common sense. (I am looking for something to duck behind now!)

Have reported my post so hopefully it will be deleted, sorry folks 🙋‍♀️

In that speech he "condemned the violence" (watched it) all very reasonsable etc

however he helped create it by repeating the "Asian migrant murderer" X rumour on X, and not taking it down or correcting it, when it was proved otherwise.

Nicenanny, you will see from my posts that I have been unfailingly courteous and respectful in my posts, in response to you and other posters. I have not referred to any posts - yours or any others- as " twaddle " , nor have I suggested that you, or anyone else are " sheep".
Why do you suggest such unpleasantness for me, when, and I repeat, my posts have been nothing but measured ?

Sorry Chocolatelovinggran nothing personal, just me letting off steam. I apologise if I've unset you, I'm just so frustrated with all the problems in Britain at the moment and the government 💐 take care

The question is, why is Isobel Oakeshott invited so often on TV shows like Question Time, etc.? WHY?

I think it was mentioned by someone on a programme recently ( can’t remember which one). 24 hours rolling news means they’re always searching for people to interview and some make themselves readily available. I didn’t click on it but I just saw something on Facebook that seemed to show Farage fuelling all these riots on GB News, speaking with Union flag behind him. Can anyone tell me of anything he has said or done this past weeks to diffuse this volatile situation?

She’s always prepared to go on them when asked? She’s articulate, keeps calm but can be guaranteed to be Marmite, which tv producers love.

Marmite ✔

Bland makes for boring TV.

I know who Isabel Oakeshott is as she’s a regular on political talk shows but why she should be made PM is a mystery.🤔

Baggs

^You never judge a person by their sitting room manners for heavens sake!!^

Course you do!

Among other things.

The point GG's making though is that it's possible to "violently" disagree politically without being uncivilised.

And most people, even most gransnetters, are like that.

‘Sitting room manners’ made me laugh, like a line from
The Trouble With Earnest😁 so thank you for that Whitewavemark2
Well said Baggs as it sure does matter.I may agree more with Keir Starmer than Nigel Farage but if Keir was to put his feet up on my coffee table he’d be out the door.
As for anyone comparing Farage to Putin/ Stalin/Hitler just too too delicious my dear, as Oscar Wilde probably would have said. What is it with posters always comparing politicians that they don’t like to the greatest murderers of all time?
I completely get the point raised by GrannyGravy13 too👍🏻

I’ve been aware of Oakshott for years as she’s a standing dish in political programmes. What she does do, which I dislike immensely and regardless of her political persuasion, is talk over people. For some reason Rory Stewart quite likes her but, then again he always says people like Patel and Braverman are very pleasant and polite if you speak to them.

Funny that Liz46 has not come back to the discussion, hey!

She is probably Oakeshott 😄😄😄

Liz46 is a regular poster who has been posting for years on GN.

As I said upthread, Nicenanny , I think that those who state, unequivocally, that person A or B speak " common sense" and "the truth" usually mean that A or B agree with their views. It doesn't necessarily mean that the truth, or common sense, is being spoken, merely that it's common sense, or truth, as it is perceived by the supporter.

Do you agree then with some of the twaddle and down right nasty posts on here against this journalist, some who don't appear to have even heard of her just joining in like sheep.

This must be a wind-up surely. She is vile, on speed, and so is her lover boy, Tice.

On speed 😂 You have obviously never been in the company of anyone on speed. Speed wouldn’t be your drug of choice when speaking publicly.

No but I do love June Slater on YouTube

Perhaps some posters should listen to this. I agree*Liz 46 * she does talk common sense and the truth unlike some of the nonsense posts on here about her.

Oakshott perpetrated the story of Cameron and the pig's head.

She's not a serious writer.

HousePlantQueen Fri 02-Aug-24 21:32:14

Ms Oakeshott betrayed Vicki Pryce over the speeding ticket business, purportedly her friend. She also leaked embarrassing comments by Lord Darroch (about Trump) and a decent man lost his job. She is not the scoop revealing journalist She likes to portray herself as. Also ghosted/co-authored several unofficial biographies including the one of Cameron. Not a particularly loyal individual
