It wasn’t not a police station it hasn’t been one in 10yrs it’s an office building not used so it was outside the area ppl that caused it. If it was ppl from there surely they would have known that.

Millions of UK citizens manage to live peacefully in multicultural situations - neighbours, friends, work mates, students, carers. Why not foster this instead of incitement?

We need to stop "othering" multicultural minorities and stop the blame and seek reconciliation. Multi faith groups up and down the country try and facilitate this, but positive initiatives get drowned in hate.

Lots of African and Indian families in our neighbourhood are working for the NHS for example. In that context m multiculturalism /globalisation is working well 🤷‍♀️

Why on earth would people local to me, semi rural area with practically zero 'diversity of culture' in evidence, be telling me that 'they want their country back', or we're being taken over by muslims, when there is no evidence at all around us to back up these assertions? They're being fed these ideas....

Summer riots are not unusual in the UK. I remember the Toxteth riots back in the 1980s.

However this is not just an excuse to loot a few shops, throw bricks at the police and burn some cars. There is a bubbling undercurrent of anger and latent violence in this country from a section of the population who feel that they are not being listened to. None of the established political parties represent their views. Just because someone didnt vote for multiculturalism and opposes immigration does not make them "thick as mince" a "thug" or a "knuckle dragger". These expressions are just lazyspeak.

I have young adult children living at home still, all in their 20’s. They wouldn’t dream of behaving like this, neither would their cousins and friends.

It’s just an excuse for sheer thuggery, it solves nothing, and it does absolutely stink if the likes of Robinson and his followers.

People are NOT being overlooked! Most young people struggle to get into the property ladder, most don’t riot. They’ve all been afforded “free” education and the opportunity to go onto higher education or college.

People need to give their heads a wobble and simply accept that most of us are going through tight times and having to pull our belts in, live with our means, which for some people is very meagre,.

This has everything to do with causing trouble and nothing to do those arriving on small boats! It’s an excuse to cause trouble.

I remember the riots back in 2011, blamed again on poverty and people feeling disenfranchised, did the “loot” (steal) food? No, TVs and very expensive trainers!

The reason these riots are happening now is that they have been incited those in positions of power.

They are responsible for directing hate within our own home grown multi-cultural communities, and against not just migrants but huge numbers of UK citizens working in our country , citizens of our country, often 2nd or 3rd generation arrivals and needed for their skills.

Having to pull their own teeth. Zero-hours contracts tying people to benefits and the control of their lives that that brings, etc. It reminds me of the 70 and 80s. The NF exploited hopelessness then, and the EDL are doing it now.

Good points. People are being manipulated and used for political ends. I hate the polarisation of this, hate the language used, including on GN; nobody 'voted for multiculturism', it was never on any manifesto, most of us accept the need to limit immigration, where we differ, perhaps, is on the language used. It is easy for certain parties to 'whisper' in the ear of a disaffected person, and tell them that everything that is wrong with their life; their shitty, poor quality rented housing, their zero hours contract, the potholes, the price of food, the long waiting list for their grandmother's hip replacement, etc., etc., is all the fault of the migrants. At the risk of mentioning it, this is exactly what Hitler and his coterie did to people in Germany, only it was the jews and the gypsies that he blamed.

It’s the same as it was in 2011, the riots are on a similar scale. It happens in other European countries too. I think the biggest difference this time is how manufactured it all is.
