“Further demonstrations were expected last night, and over the weekend, in dozens of cities and towns, including London, Aldershot, Sunderland, Hull, Liverpool, Cardiff and Manchester.
Flyers are also being circulated online for rallies in Nottingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Belfast, Bristol and Hull.
The Prime Minister has claimed that the protests have been coordinated by the far-Right. But speaking to The Telegraph, Mrs Badenoch said too many people were not being honest about the failures of integration.
“You look at all the tension that we’ve been seeing in the country over the last few days in Southport and Hartlepool, everybody’s quiet,” she said.
“They don’t want to upset the cultural establishment that wants to pretend that nothing is going on. You can’t just pretend that there are no tensions.
“And we’ve been seeing this not just between ethnic minorities and white British people, but it’s even between ethnic minorities. This is not normal.”
