Some of it will be opportunism and the heatwave, I agree, but I think mostly it's boiled-over frustration at 14 years of neglect. Working people having to use foodbanks. Having to pull their own teeth. Zero-hours contracts tying people to benefits and the control of their lives that that brings, etc. It reminds me of the 70 and 80s. The NF exploited hopelessness then, and the EDL are doing it now.
You are avoiding the elephant in the room, it's all about mass immigration legal and illegal changing the face of our towns and cities and not aways for the better. The perception of 2 tier policing one rule for them another rule for the others. Yes all the above doesn't help I agree and no I do not condone the violence. You might not like to admit this but this is what it is about, it's been bubbling for a while now it has reached boiling point. Labelling all concerned citizens far right thugs (yes I admit some are) who are worried about this doesn't help the situation.
My city, surrounding towns and villages are the same.
* You are factually wrong*when you claimed that Starmer said that concerned people are all right wing thugs.
Twisting facts to suit your populist narrative will get called out every time.
If you are unclear what Starmer actually said I can post it for you.
