In what world is this OK? I despair really.
Stock school and hospital so Hamas can move in
Agree Caleo
Israel could it is so choose now rebuild the hospitals and send medicines and equipment. The fact Israel is not doing so is evidence that Israel is not only attacking HAMAS but is eliminating all the people who live and die in Palestine.

The Palestinians in Gaza voted for Hamas some years ago, and although we don’t know just how much support there still is for them, we can assume quite a lot.
There has certainly been evidence of widespread hatred of Jewish people, so much so that this war is about the very survival of Israelis, which is why the destruction of the Hamas regime is an absolute top priority.
Nobody in Gaza dare speak out against Hamas, depravation of aid and a beating is the punishment, Hamas murdered all the moderate opposition many years ago, they don’t care how many Palestinians die.
Hamas situate themselves in schools and hospitals in order to hide behind civilians. Many of the photos they publish are old or not from Gaza at all.

More martyrs in Gaza, propaganda is the only weapon Hamas has left, they deliberately fill a school or a hospital then deliberately make appear to be a military base.
If they wanted to reduce casualties they would base themselves away from populations, but that doesn’t get headlines, Hamas is defeated, all they can do is make more martyrs.

On the face of it, this sounds awful, but any anger should be directed at the Hamas regime for being cowardly enough to deliberately choose to hide in schools and hospitals.
Throughout the war, Israel has, where possible, warned citizens to leave certain areas where intelligence has told them Hamas murderers are lurking.
It’s worth bearing in mind that the innocent Israelis attending a music festival last year, were given no warning whatsoever of the atrocities about to be committed by Hamas.
On the face of it? Have you seen those images? Do you have a good understanding of the history and
complexity of the region?
I certainly don't, not at all.
My small brain wonders how the Palestinians are supposed to behave. From what I can glean from media and talking to people, Hamas is completely embedded in all aspects of every day life.
They controlled everything. There was no means by which families could say " No Thanks, you're not for me"
My only connection with Isrealis was many years ago when they subjected Muslim students to expreme bullying and displayed a worrying knowledge of guns.
No.
I am quite clear.
It is possible to have compassion for innocents both sides of the border.
Looking at a historical build up to events - and international forces at work - is not to excuse but to explain.
excuse for Hamas
Far more complicated. Israel, as I said above, has told citizens of Gaza where to go as "Safe" places and then still attacked.
Of course posters are angry with Hamas, and no one is trying to justify the initial attacks.
but Hamas' growth was at least partly the result of some Israeli's settling further and further into Gaza and restricting access to land and jobs since 1967.
It's a tragic 70 year old narrative.
Its interesting tho, that both neighbours - Egypt and Jordan have spoken up specifically against the school bombing

Opposition to Netanyahu within Israel.

I think its important to see Israelis have very differing opinions on the current regime.
The Jerusalem Post
www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-813920
refers to the attack as on a "Command Centre" as in planning, not as a military base.
Correction - have been fighting….
Good post Wyllow3
I do believe that both the US and Iran having been fighting each other using proxies for many years.
Until that is sorted out I imagine this sort of wholesale massacre will just continue, and Israel will continue to have a free hand.
@cadeby I can’t look at it anymore either. The photos of small children injured or worse is just too much.
I believe you are correct, Babs03.
I can't cope with it, selfish I know.
It was being used as a shelter for displaced Gaza citizens.
At the beginning of the war the current Israeli regime (which I think its important to separate from the Israeli people as a whole, since there is considerable unrest within Israel)
Was attacking Hamas military bases, ie places where rockets could be launched, etc. Civilians did die in those bombings too of course.
Now it is going after any place where they say Hamas is hiding, or a "control centre"
including places that the Israeli regime have told the Palestinian people it is safe to go
(for example, warnings were sent out to Rafah, but designated safety zones were ID'd, but then attacked).
You cant "eliminate" Hamas in this way.
I agree it has now become genocide. I am also very troubled by attacks in the West Bank by settlers on individuals and families in land grabs. (reported in Haaretz)
I don't fully understand the situation vis a vis Lebanon or Syria so won't comment, but as regards Iran I believe that the USA are using Israel as a base in the region to protect and further the containment of Iran.
USA and the West generally regard Iran as a terror based threat to the world. They give 3.3 billion a year to Israel for military aid. the Germans also give substantial military aid.
Meanwhile people in Gaza only survive because of huge amounts of international aid. The infrastructure is almost totally destroyed.
Its worth reading both Haaretz and the Jerusalem Post.
I don’t believe we can take anything either side says as the truth but looking at photos of Gaza or rather the moon scape it has become I can believe that the number of dead is approx accurate. Israel hasn’t used equipment to pinpoint anything obviously, it has simply employed a scorched earth policy.
pinpointed? I don't think so
ronib
There’s no earthly reason for Israel to bomb a school and a mosque if it’s not housing Hamas.
Israeli intelligence pinpointed that it was being used as a military enclave by hamas and it was a strategic strike.
It wasn’t being used as a school. You can’t believe what the hamas health ministry says on anything.
Babs03 I don’t know how Israel or Hamas should fight. I don’t think we’re qualified to say.
For me the most important question is how to stop the unnecessary loss of all human life. That’s not going to happen in my lifetime.
