Donald Trump

Former president Trump, you had four years to lead the United States and failed us by your own choosing. Whether it be in foreign policy or domestic policy, you did not protect the nation as commander in chief.

We the American people have finally borne witness to what happens when they place an incompetent business man into the Oval Office. Especially one who had everything handed to him.

Quality of life is not a business decision, sir. But rather, it is a humane choice to be empathetic to those who cannot help themselves. This is why government exists.

Now comes the jury’s decision making you a convicted felon. Have you no shame and decency sir? As was said about former president Richard Nixon, jail to the chief.

All you do is complain and moan about what others have done to you. However by all accounts you put yourself in precarious situations and are now facing the consequences.

MAGA has become a dog whistle for NAZI. Your followers would have made great “Brown Shirts” in Hitler’s Germany. They demonstrated their loyalty to you on January 6, 2021. An event you instigated.

As for inflation somebody encouraged Corporate America to gouge us at the grocery stores, gas stations and pretty much everywhere at the point of purchase.

Who is too old to run now?

BlueBelle Sun 25-Aug-24 05:09:20

I bet this has upset him 🤣🤣🤣

Macadia Sun 25-Aug-24 05:09:21

JamesandJon33 Sun 25-Aug-24 05:48:28

So do I. I shall add that to my vocabulary.

Smileless2012 Sun 25-Aug-24 08:44:53

I hope the majority of Americans feel as you do OP so he doesn't get voted in.

Wyllow3 Sun 25-Aug-24 08:50:47

I hope so too.

Galaxy

I hope hes listening opgrin

He never listens. He already knows everything.

Cossy Sun 25-Aug-24 09:42:59

Well said OP! I have friends and family in the US of A and they are horrified at the thought of Trumpty in power again, as are most of us here in the UK (sorry, shouldn’t speak for other!)

Go Kamala!

Aldom Sun 25-Aug-24 10:37:37

Well said OP I have everything crossed for Kamala. Wishing her success in November. The US needs her.... The world needs someone stable as Commander in Chief/President of the USA.

henetha Sun 25-Aug-24 10:58:06

Completely agree, Aldom. I'm fervently hoping that Kamala is the next President of the USA.

Aldom Sun 25-Aug-24 12:51:47

smile henetha

Wyllow3 Sun 25-Aug-24 12:58:05

Also agree very strongly. It's not just his policies at home (think Project 25) but what he'll do with foreign policy. He's promised for example to "fix" Ukraine and constantly complains Europe isnt doing their bit in NATO. He doesn't believe in Climate change...

madeleine45 Sun 25-Aug-24 13:06:16

how cheering to read your post and know that there are some americans who are decent and not conned by this appalling man. The fact that he has any followers is very worrying to us all. The thought of him becoming president is frightening to us all

sassenach512 Sun 25-Aug-24 16:22:53

Yes Wyllow Ukraine would be 'fixed' alright, he'd hand it over to his pal Putin.
Trump is all for Trump and his ghastly family. I can't believe the rubbish that comes out of his mouth he is delusional, all he can do is bad mouth and denigrate the opposition it only makes him look bad to decent, right thinking people.

He's not interested in the environment, NATO, health care for the masses who haven't got money. I just can't understand how he's managed to hoodwink his followers into thinking he's like the next massiah, nothing he's done and been convicted of has changed their opinion of him, it's like a cult.

He used to ridicule Joe Biden but I think age has addled his brain. Can you really imagine him with his finger on the button of a nuclear weapon? This world will be ever closer to disaster if he gets in again

keepingquiet Sun 25-Aug-24 16:28:40

The question I have to ask is how did he ever get elected in the first place? I'm so glad the tide is turning back to common sense and reason again. History will look back in astonishment at how carzy we all were (and I'm including the UK in this) to think populism was the same as politics.

Wheniwasyourage Sun 25-Aug-24 21:29:47

We met some Americans on holiday. They were delighted that Biden had stepped down in favour of Harris and said that they were wondering where they could move to if Trump got in. I said that on this side of the Atlantic too, we were wondering where we could move to if Trump got in!

Macadia Tue 27-Aug-24 07:54:30

There is a new book, coming out in about two days, named: "At War With Ourselves". It will be a best-seller and I hope it will bring Trumpers out of their trance.

Wyllow3 Tue 27-Aug-24 10:32:51

I hope so too. In a similar vein there is of course Former Trump staffer, Stephanie Grisham, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention

"Stephanie Grisham, a former Trump White House Press Secretary, opened by describing herself as not only a Trump supporter, but a “true believer” who spent holidays with the Trump family.

That belief shattered, Grisham said, because of what she saw “when the cameras were off.”

“He has no empathy, no morals, and no fidelity to the truth,” she said."
