Have to say this sounds like a non news story but it seems some are getting hot under the collar about it. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with a young woman like Angela enjoying a holiday in Ibiza and dancing in a nightclub. She wasn't doing anything wrong.
I like the fact that Angela is from a working class background in the North, the same as me, it makes her far more in touch with those who feel that politicians recently are on another planet. She also has fire in her belly and God forbid a love of life. Reminds me of a young Barbara Castle.
Keep on dancing Ang, but keep your smartest moves for those opposite you in the HoC.

Give her a break! She isn't doing anything wrong or illegal, she's still a relatively young person, who had a lot of responsibility at a young age. She may even have Oasis tickets, definitely, maybe hmm I don't think her downtime should be put under such scrutiny, she's entitled to a holiday not everyone wants to spend it in the same way.

Angela is a young woman so a walking holiday in the Alps probs doesn’t appeal. When I was her age, many moons ago, I used to go on holiday to Blackpool, and I used to dance, as well as misbehave a bit.
Would complain if she started twerking or whatever they call it in the HoC, but in her own time, on holiday, not likely.

It is all that matters.

FFS can't the woman be left alone, as long as she does her deputy prime minister job well that's all that surely matters.

Who really gives a s*it where she goes and what she does?
I've never heard such worlocks in my life.

😂

*Happilyretired123*. Do you really think so? My impression of all politicians is that they go out of their way to cultivate a public image/persona. So Theresa May - walking holidays in Switzerland or similar. Cameron with Samantha in ‘nice’ places and BJ generally on holiday….

BJ on holiday a lot and mostly paid for by donors etc 🤣

Well let’s just say Ibiza is not an aspirational destination for a member of the ruling elite?

Why would you say that? Maybe not for Rishi Sunak but politicians like the rest of us are free to take holidays where they please!

There’s nothing wrong in her letting her hair, down & enjoying herself as long as when other opposition leaders have their breaks, you don’t all go into a meltdown

Not sure what you mean. Are you being ironic or are you serious? Morlocks like me like to have things explained to them in simple terms.

Fiddling while Rome burns comes to mind. i.e. Dancing while Great Britain burns.

I thought they would be too busy sorting out the country's problems instead of going on holiday, they have only been in parliament for a few weeks and now get a holiday. Give me a break.

Actually is a recess until government go back to work next week. However, Starmer and the cabinet etc., haven’t had the usual long summer holiday, Starmer in fact hasn’t had a holiday at all but others have been allowed a week or so off. Seems fair to me.

They should not be having holidays after only being in office for a few weeks. They should be in their offices sorting out the mess they have got us into.

ronib Sun 01-Sept-24 17:04:04

No not at all fair play. It’s politics.

Babs03 her holiday in Ibiza is the distraction not her!!

Ah, in that case fair play.
